Yeah that is one difference compared to many other publishers moving on to something else whereas Ubisoft even before the full swing into this service model made attempts to reboot or revive interest in the game doing several longer development updates and overhauls involving the community and implementing feedback which they are still doing.
Even with dwindling player bases and declining sales resulting in these heavy discounts the teams are still given the chance to turn it around and implement changes that will take months which is a risk other studios would rarely attempt short of maybe the MMO business where this is more common for long-term player engagement.
I have to give it to Ubisoft tho, that despite everything, they stick to their games. They did it with The Division 1, they did it, and still do, with Wildlands, Division 2 is on active support (now episode 2, next major update coming). The last AC's as well.
And I somehow think, they'll make Breakpoint enjoyable too, at some point ^^.
One can only hope... I've bought the game very dirt cheap in last year's Ubilol promo + 20% discount from a coupon, hoping that, eventually, they manage to turn this into a enjoyable game (atleast closer to Wildlands). So far, the only "fun" to be had in this game is to roam around, and stealthly clearing outposts...
Just by taking out the fucking stupid GS from items and bringing back proper weapons customization would already improve like 50% of this thing
I'm waiting for the update that removes the silly forced hub-based online component, colorful disposable loot-y itemization, ridiculously arcade perks that turn the player into an invincible Super Panther; followed by one that introduces believable ballistics, vehicle physics, engaging missions, AI that's aware of the player's actions, and writing that doesn't make you feel like you're watching a military-themed CBS soap opera.

Go Ubi, you can do it!
Spoiler:
...
That spoiler
Removing all that would lead to there being no game left!
OFFLINE MODE
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint was built from the ground up to be an online experience. We heavily investigated the possibility of adding the option of an offline mode, but we were not able to come up with a solution that did not create an unacceptable amount of technical risks.

the risk of people actually playing the game?
And the possible 'yarr
The new update looks promising, but it's still MILES away from atleast being close to the "ideal" GR game, though it seems to be on the right direction now imho. Maybe they can actually turn this into an somewhat enjoyable game
That's going to hit the servers a bit, got a few minutes after 2.0 and maintenance until they went down likely from what remaining players wanted to check out the changes and also logged in but yeah it's Ghost Recon Breakpoint now up to season two with some customization which well we'll see.
So this is Ubisoft's thing for now hmm check feedback and patch the games up a bit pulling discounts and free weekends for Anno 1800, Division 2, Breakpoint and other freebies and such.
I think Breakpoint won't be doing too well it would require larger changes but we'll see how it goes, hitting this second season is fairly impressive for what Ubisoft deems worth to risk or try compared to Division 2 which started well but then faltered over time this game had issues and likely still has but feedback over the next few days however the servers cope with the increase in traffic will be interesting to hear but I'm not expecting too much and the work required would be much more than this even if it's a good start at least.
So, they added Vulkan to the game, that's nice for a change (depends on how well it is implemented tho).
Logged in to do a quick check on the new mode and I've gotta say that I'm actually impressed on how much you can customize it now, but sadly I couldn't play as the servers kicked me out
So i bought this with russian VPN and now the game is in russian..is there any way around this? Properties doesnt let me select english language.. did i just screwed myself?
