Any microtransaction shenanigans here?
EDIT: or mechanics that can be exploited after the review period died down?

Damn yeah, reading that the annoying cine-glory kills went from being accessory to essential has annihilated part of the excitement that I had. It doesn't come as a surprise though, it was the "feature" that impressed newcomers the most back then whilst putting off baby doomers like us. Will try the Bethiso as well this evening if my connection won't collapse on itself *fingers crossed*

IMO it's similar to Doom 2016. Surprised anyone is disappointed, it's exactly as I hoped. Maybe I'm a noob or smthg but I had to pinata/glory kill in Doom 2016 as much as I do here. It makes the game actually harder because you need to be careful and not wasting ammos on smaller ennemis.
I actually like the strategy part of saving ammunitions. To each his own but unlimited ammos = no challenge.

I just hope I will be able to download this in time and log in once before they close that loophole.

Definitely not higher than 1080p | 75-ish fps here with a 1070 on Ultra at 1080p.

I dont like it. Finished the first 2 missions, and its like a mini cutscene simulator. Hold click pressed, press R, CTRL and E while pointing at mobs. Rinse and repeat.
Also, so many cutscenes, jesus, a door opens, its a cutscene, a glory kill, cutscene, arena activates? Cutscene. I'm starting to feel nearsighted with all the dof thats on the screen 80% of the time causr im constantly executing something and getting a mini cutscene.
Music is really dragging me out too, it just doesnt match up at all with the action on screen. Like when you get a knight to show up for the first time and this really cool beat starts up but you kill the mob in like 2 seconds and the music just winds down immediately.
Lastly, mobs are too many and die too fast, you can hold the trigger and just hit a different mob every time, there's no weight to the combat

After playing for an hour or so, I'm not into it. It feels cheap, it looks cheap and I'm not really having enough fun with it to make me choose to start it up over a lot of other games out there right now. I'm dissapointed.

Eh sounds like I'll just continue playing Ion Fury then which I just started playing early today for the first time - having a blast with that.

I am having a blast with it but I do feel what You are saying.
For me, there is too much systems in this. This thing does this and recharges when You do this and makes enemy drop this ammo. This upgrade, that upgrade, this subupgrade, those points get into this system.
It's not complicated but it's a bit much.
But what I also dislike are enemy weak points... this makes the enemies mostly tanky until You take out their weak point. Now cacodemons always die in the same way with glory kill after chewing on grenade.
The ammo is plenty if You use chainsaw but You never have too much at a time.
So all in all - many systems, many upgrades, arcade feel. Previous is more relaxing... there is less to think about and just blast away in 2016 game.
But this is still a great game with fanatic visuals, sound and just great to play. If the only complaint is that they overdid it, then it's still a game I will happily play

Looks and sounds great and runs super good, 4K is locked 60fps and 1080p is locked 144fps on ultra nightmare, game feels like Quake III arena tho, map design is retarded for single player game, other than that its a good time waster, doesn´t have the "magic" what previous Doom had, not sure why.

Dont think I can manage Nightmare preset
@Rage
@KillerCrocker
May be I'm too old but I have to agree, it just too complex and convoluted, you have to micromanage a lot of things. Kinda reminded me about dota/mobas except these have perfected their rules and DOOM Eternal trying "something new" and kinda falls flat on its face.
Biggest takeaway for me is that I no longer play as a powerful dude shooting thing, I noticed most of my time I spent running like a squirrel on the arena waiting for opportunity of using on of 4 (FUCKING FOUR) support weapons so I can get resources to continue. The ammo is literally every single step on the map and it STILL never enough.
At which point fun stopped being the centerpoint?
