Typhoon Studios, founded last year by Far Cry 4 director Alex Hutchinson, announced its first-ever project tonight at the Game Awards: a first-person adventure game called Journey to the Savage Planet.
Launching in 2019 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Journey to the Savage Planet is an upbeat first-person adventure game set in a bright and colorful alien world filled with weird and wonderful creatures. As an employee of Kindred Aerospace, which proudly touts its rating as the “4th Best Interstellar Exploration Company”, players will be dropped onto an uncharted planet deep in a fictitious, far-away corner of the universe. Launched with high hopes but little equipment and no real plan, players are tasked with exploring, cataloging alien flora and fauna and determining if the planet is fit for human habitation.
The adventure begins January 28, 2020! Play solo or with a friend - Explore the charming and hilariously chaotic alien world of Journey to the Savage Planet on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and the Epic Games Store.

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."
I stand corrected it's more metroividania - exploration kinda game that looked at Subnautica/NMS but not really liked the crafting part, well maybe a tiny bit with humor like BreathEdge but never hearding of it.

Yep, from what I've played it definitely is a (lite) Metroidvania with a lighthearted tone, no survival mechanics and pew-pew-y platform-y bits. It's fine as a time waster, but everything is rather..simplistic, not quite as immersive or engaging as I hoped. Oh well!
