Keep in mind the yarrr version is not 0.5.1 and does NOT save your progress properly. It'll save unlocked DNA Traits, but not unlocked Plague Types (which is basically how you progress in the game).

Nice little game, but once you figure out how to manage infectivity vs. severity it more or less plays the same way each time. Not worth $15, maybe $5.

well surely its down to how you choose to play it... sure theres speed, but sometimes i like to take it slow and see how long i can go before getting detected...i dont know how many hours i sunk into just the BASIC version of the game... to me, just the act of seeing all dem red dots multiply, and getting those greenland fuckers (!!) brings me great joy... also you can try picking more challenging start locations... nah, i want this... i really do. if i can get me some damn keys, ill pick this up for sure.

It's another "$3 on iOS, $15 on PC" release like pretty much every other iOS port out there. For some reason, PC ports get 500% price hikes. The handheld version was a great game nonetheless, but yeah, crappy pricing on the port just on general principle.

The best part is when it finally goes "critical" and starts infecting exponentially like crazy. That never gets old! Very Happy

Evolution 2 released - The Neurax Worm:
Quote:
It's only been a week since Plague Inc: Evolved started infecting Steam via Early Access and now major Evolution 2 (Early Access update 0.5.5) is live! It adds the mind-controlling Neurax Worm - an invasive organism that burrows into the brain of its host to control them!

The Neurax Worm is a brand new plague type with new graphics, music, events, and victory conditions - requiring very different strategies. Living deep in the jungle for thousands of years, human advancement into its natural habitat has brought it into contact with humans for the first time and given it the means to spread...

The update also includes a number of fixes, tweaks and additions - see below for more. Steam should automatically download this update - Assuming Direct Control...

I love this game. Just discovered it and I love it both on Steam and Android.
That necroa Virus really is hard... Along with the official scenarios.

What sucks is that almost everything costs money on Android if you don't buy the full version Sad

You can unlock a lot of it easily by beating the crap out of the first virus. Once you know the secret to dominating that first stage, all you ahve to do is play it over a few times and you unlock something new almost every time.

There's really no point to even paying for this. Every virus you get works the same way and you win the same way every time. Only difference in timing is where you start off from.

Transmissions are all useless except water and air, evetually going bioarerosol or whatever it's called. The the 2 levels for pharmaceuticals, heat you don't really need to do much with except maybe 1 level though 2 levels spreads a bit faster. By the time you hit Iceland and Greenland you'll notice they'll get a few infections and it won't spread until you have 2 levels in cold. Norway, USA and Sweden benefit from higher pharmaceuticals

Outside the virus stage where it costs points to degrade levels, every single one you just keep downgrading until everyone is infected then go the quickest route to organ failure then coma to wipe the earth out.

Virus is only different because you'll spend too many points downgrading symptons so it's more of letting it spread and you just using your points wisely.

Goddamnit, I just can't get the necroa virus to "kill" everyone. Infecting is easy but every damn time 1 z-com remains...

His tutorials are generally the best.

I have noticed my idea above generally only gets me 3 stars. What I don't like about the game is they don't really tell you the specifics of each virus and how it works.

Like why does one virus work better with using birds to spread the virus etc.

Thanks for the link, I'll try that later.
The same thing bothers me too. I think they'll add it when the game is officially released.

Quote:
Plague Inc: Evolved will receive its final Early Access update on February 18, wrapping up two years of development. To their credit, the devs have implemented each and every feature they pledged at the start of the project in addition to requests from players.

Evolution (update) 18, which will take Plague, Inc to version 1.0, will introduce co-op mode to Steam's premiere pandemic simulator, joining the head-to-head play added in December. You and a pal take charge of two different diseases and attempt to bring down civilisation in tandem. That feels a bit unfair on humanity, but I do have a vested interest in not being riddled with disease.

The major Shadow Plague expansion is out now and is available for free to everyone who owns Plague Inc: Evolved!

The Shadow Plague is a sentient, mutagenic pathogen which triggers a powerful thirst for blood in its chosen host. Can humanity defend itself against a powerful vampire attacking from the shadows?

“Plague Inc.” — a strategy game in which the objective is to “bring about the end of human history” — was the No. 1 paid Apple app in China Wednesday morning amid the coronavirus outbreak that has reportedly sickened more than 400 people and killed 17, according to app data firm Sensor Tower.
