So I busted out Unity just recently since I had also gone back to Brotherhood recently as well. I can say that I miss the older style of gameplay where a bit of stealth and actual assassinations took place. The two recent games looked nice and were fun in their own way but it just seemed like a different series to me. I might get flak for saying this but Unity visuals and animations are awesome to me. Sure it’s not perfect and had an abysmal launch but it’s still a fun game IMO. I’m actually enjoying it more than Odyssey.
So while I am looking forward to Vikings I can’t help but think stealth and subtlety will be almost non-existent and focused on pure combat. If done right it could be fun and if it does end up having coop then that’s a plus in general to me. Destroying npcs is usually fun to do with your friends and I hope so in this case too.

Who cares about gameplay. It's one of the few next-gen looking titles out there so BRING IT ON.
I have to say but now that the bugs have been fixed - for me Unity is one of the most enjoyable AC games. The graphics are top notch, the gameplay is solid and innovative ( the revamped parkour is the best in the series, the assassination missions with multiple approaches and side objectives are really refreshing). Only the story and the characters are somewhat bland and uninspired.
Unity looked awesome when it was released, it ran like crap though.
Yeah, thats why I started playing it again after the notre dame fire. And with my PC now it runs pretty decent. Was a lot easier when everyone got it free to play coop, but as always... people got back to playing CSGO, DOTA2 and PUBG...
Like most engines from the legacy->PBR transition era, they were very buggy and slow. This engine is no exception, with Unity doing the transition early on in the transition period and life of the consoles, thus there being little expertise and it was extra buggy. Wildlands/Origin is when the engine somewhat stabilized and was much more optimized and bug-free.

I agree with the sentiment, now that I can run it comfortably it's a nice game all in all, pretty much what I expect out of an AC game. The lite-RPG crapola of the latest instalments in the series didn't stick with me despite how well-depicted the world is.
And it's always rather nice to have an open-world game set in Paris, the only other one I can think of is the Saboteur - which was a really nice game too !
According to well-known industry analyst and insider, ZhugeEx, all of these recent ‘leaks’ have been incorrect and most of them are actually educated guesses based on Kotaku’s Assassin’s Creed Kingdom leak from last year. As a matter of fact, while most leaks have claimed that the game will be called Assassin’s Creed Ragnarok, this isn’t even the game’s title.

I'm still hoping the very first leaks back in 2016 about a trilogy in Egypt, Greece and Rome turn out to be true. Viking setting is not bad, but I preffer they connect and finish the current story arcs, rather than start a new one.
Also, I've talked with multiple Ubi employees too (here in UbiSofia), but they always put on a big smile and tell me they can't spill anything.
Viking setting isn't my favorite either, Rome would be better.. i bet people are getting sick of it though so i'm pretty sure its a completely new setting and i'm still betting much of the rumors are true..
mm, would they make a simple mistake like 'Lief Eriksson' instead of Leif?
Yeah it could just be a typo, achievements drops the right names/places but still I'd expect them to pick something like that up fast.

Seems like it but they really went heavy on the meme-inspired achievements
by now everyone knows what it is, the idea probably sounded nice on paper but I am not sure this will be done so early unless he's really speeding up in the last minutes
So far it looks typically medieval (Kingdom Come era). Could still have vikings & danelaw etc. as a setting but it'd make more sense to go for something like Arthurian legends in an AC game since that would be much more recognizable.
Will be interesting to see how this goes, more RPG, more everything, much more bloat?
More cheat-engine booster table helpers and trainers. ~
And don't fucking put the social imagery shit on top of the damn fast travel icon this time!
(Oh you can sort it out, it resets though, every single time.)

Well, Glastonbury in the 10th to 13th century would probably look something like that. I don't know enough about medieval architecture to make any correct predictions though. But I have to say, that's the most boring reveal I've ever watched (the little I watched). Watching someone spend hours and hours in photoshop isn't my idea of "wow" unless it's compressed into a 5-10 minute time-skip video.
EDIT: Oh, now I saw part of the left side for the first time. Iceland/Greenland/Scandinavia indeed.
