Hey, anyone playing any MUDs anymore?

I started playing BatMUD again in end of November (pretty much non stop Razz-> 400 hours since then)

They released their client on steam.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/616920/BatMUD/

It would be cool to get more new blood into the game.
If muds are your thing, please give it a try Smile

My name in the game is Gumba
I'm currently playing a new class for me: Riftwalker (new as in I've never played it before and I suck Razz)
I have around 200M of totals, but I'm always happy to play with new people.

On weekends I probably play 10-16 hours Razz Depending if I'm tired / if I have any other program planned, but on weekdays I'm playing 3-4 at most as the holidays are over.

There's also currently an event in the game which makes all high level players happily take newbies into their groups (the lower the average level of the party is the more 'rXP' is generated which is used to unlock upgrades in an overly powerful ring. Newbies gain rXP extremely fast and can easily get the maximized ring in probably a month of playing )

Note that you can also play it fully free. The client mostly just gives you a realm map which will show your position in wilderness automatically.
You can connect via Mudlet or dozens of other clients for free as well.

https://www.bat.org/ has the information on which addess / port to connect to if you want to use 3rd party clients.

If you use wayback machine and go to that site before ... end of November (22nd or something) you can even get the previous version of the client for free. I'm not sure if there are issues with it, but afaik. some people are still using it.

Evil Religious cat can be very good.

I would suggest making a Disciple/Tzarakk/Tiger or Reaver.
Tzarakk allows you to raise a demonic mount which allows you to travel without any endurance cost (makes running around much more enjoyable) and it can carry a ton of loot (money making becomes much easier as you can easily carry also the less valuable items around)
Tiger is a martial artist guild, which... sucks, except until it does not anymore. They have a skill which can instantly kill a ~20k exp monsters (requires using the skill approximately 20k times, and training it to 100+) and they have also a 'claw' spell which is extremely powerful, as it can stun a monster for up to 6 rounds (stunned monsters don't hit back, they take a lot of extra damage from melee).

Tigers are absolutely NOT newbie friendly, but they do get very powerful if you keep at it.
Tzarakk/Reaver is another extremely common combo, as it is very powerful. Reaver is a heavy melee damage dealer with AOE attacks etc (normally melee classes do not get AOE attacks)
The only problem with Reaver is, it's usually done with a LARGE race (Centaur, Minotaur etc.) As polearms are extremely powerful weapons in the game, and they're ridiculously cheap, while a good axe / sword costs up to 10-20 as much (6th best weapon in the game is a polearm which is sold for 5-10 million), 3rd best weapon of the game is an axe which is sold for approximately... 300-500 million, and the 4th best is a sword which is sold for 50-60m, with polearms you can also get ~12th best or so, for 50k (similar axe is ~1-2m)

Almost all of my experience in the game is from Tzarakks and Tigers, as I had been only tiger since 1999, until now... few days ago I switched to a rift walker.
