would be hilarious if google itself was compromized, and yes it warned me my liveleak acccount was compromized, but its a spam account and the password (18y old password) was leaked in some website or something so, no fucks given

I only have three-5 mega passwords, one for paypal, one for amazon, and one for steam/games , oh and gmail, ah and apps on my phone

a bank pin and a credit card pin (4 cyphers seems so out of date haha )

And use 2FA.

Exclamation

Unfortunately, many important services, such as banks and credit card providers don't offer these.
So always use a strong password! If you use a password manager, let it create it and store it. If you are from the stone age, come up with a unique password—there are strategies to come up with strong sentence passwords according to the site you are on.

In EU, 2FA is now obligatory for every financial institution during sign in. Even card transactions require 2FA since 2 months ago.

It will take us probably decades to reach that here. Laughing

The only problem I see with this is old people who are not tech savvy. Does the law allow the second factor to be a physical token? But then, imagine a keychain full of those tokens. Laughing

i remember when all i needed for my bank was an electronic generated key file that had to be on my computer or usb, and just use my normal password, those were happy times, just log in ones and do as many transactions as i wanted, now each log in and each transaction i need to wip out this plastic device, insert my card and type a bunch of codes ... such a fucking chore

There was an option for that, but scratch cards were free (that was 10+ years ago). The point was that old people are aware of 2fa, in one way or another.

If old people don't have phones, then they probably don't even use online banking - not really a problem

My mum called me some weeks ago - she had to authenticate online in order to be able to use banking over phone in the future - she never used online banking - never logged in. Now it was necessary.

So it may become a problem, even if you don't ever use it.

But it's true - even many elders here are well aware of and familiar with 2fa.

Anything I use currently has a generated password by google and 2FA whenever possible. It was mainly old and unused accounts for stuff I have not used in years that were affected.

Net banking uses a pattern recognition app and CC has 3d secure, I.e. I need to confirm on my phone with my fingerprint.
