Got the game on discount, everything apart technical and first person implementation is simply stellar, but performance is... a 'lite' GTA IV all over again. At some point the game also crashed, like it fucking had enough of the curiously low framerate it had...
Did Rockstar said anything about future improvements, or at least is there any official statement that they "are working constantly to improve" the fuck-up?
I trusted Arkane once with Dishonored 2 and was not disappointed. Despite the initiall major issues, that game became one of my fav. games of all times. Now, with Rockstar, not sure this time what to expect...
So the special version is now on Steam for the price of the standard from UKR and since I got some monies left on the wallet thought I might grab it. But since it uses external launcher I guess I can't family share this can I? If that's the case then no point in wasting wallet for this.
How do you have a 'lite' version of stuttering? Either it does or it doesn't
There have been many videos explaining what the settings are, what they they do and which offer diminishing returns, I'm surprised anyone is still having trouble with it at this point
Hm, but I don't experience stuttering AT ALL! And didn't refer to such issue anywhere.
That 'lite' term I used is to define the poor performance. NOT as BAD as GTA IV at launch, but still, underwhelming.
Regarding the settings and how they influence the performance... (videos explaning), I simply didn't search for any hints / tweaks until now. No need to be that surprised! Not all people put RDR2 on their highest list of priorities when it comes to gaming, hehe.
Found out while playing online how absolutely SHIT is the mouse sensitivity in the game.
There's one sensitivity for default camera, another for shooting while aiming. You can't match them... Not to mention is has the same issue as GTAV also: different mouse sensitivity for first person and third person...

This was even a problem with the PS4 version. Default felt so unresponsive, at first I thought my (then) new 4k TV had severe input lag. Then I saw lots of YT videos popping up to tweak the camera to "perfection". Didnt do much, nether did the updates... So that was probably the one thing I hated most about RDR2 on console.
If by crash you mean online kicking you off the session due to a fault in the rockstar services, that shit has been in there since last year with no fix in sight.
Hm, had only one crash and one disconnect while online. 99% of the time it's a technical flawless ride. Guess there's luck on my side, heh?
The problem with the online lies elsewhere, though. The fucking GRIND.
Good thing I am not interested in cosmetics and - dressed in my raggedy suit - I headshot own the bastards that keep disturbing the Zen in my wild west journey. And since there's a fking LOT of those bastards, there's a damn long streak of headshots...
Assume away...I own it on XBox and would love to play it on the PC but without any type of beta testing by the community, I held off on throwing money at what is turning out to be another early release "almost alpha" crapfest.

I got addicted a few days with the online mode. Those bastard human players are so fitting with the setting, that one can't get mad when gets shot in the back!
And... well... honestly, the first encounter online I had with a real player ended up with me shooting him straight in the face. I didn't like the way he was looking at me.
In my defense, he also had a lasso in his hands and was kinda - I think - eyeing me.
