2 whole years between seasons is too much, I'm rewatching the last 2 episodes of S3 so I can be reminded about the state of affairs before the start of S4
From the look of things in the trailers seems that the return of Vera might be a small revenge side plot, probably to be resolved in first half of the season.
story and characters i think they are not that good as much as the creator thinks they are but the show is very good directed with very strong music, very atmospheric, no bs hollywood hacking, world events parallels to the current times that you are in for the ride, probably why its got a strong little fan base, would say its very meticulous done like breaking bad. also probably usa's channel only good show
Thanks to its technical excellence and strong performance by Malek the show has been a big award magnet and has won the Golden Globe for Best Drama, and Malek has won Emmy's Outstanding Lead Actor.
This isn't the kind of show you cancel (unless you can't afford to make it), it's the kind of show where you set an enddate with the creator.

There's just been too much time between seasons. And the story only really picked up in the last 2 seasons.. Even I have to force myself to finish the last one.
There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.
For me this season defintely isn't the best so far (that would be S3), there's been 2 stellar episodes (including its own "Ozymandias" with a 10/10 rating on iMDB) out of 9 so far and the rest has felt much like filler, even though I understand it's all been building up to a huge reveal in the final stretch. I just hope this reveal won't be as predictable as the ones in S1 and S2.
the payoff is never as big as how much effort has been put into directing the episodes, esmail should stick at directing, same is with his other show homecoming
So how was it? No spoilers, I just started watching the 4th season.

This season cemented Mr. Robot as my favorite TV show of all time. The series finale for me is on par with the greats like Six Feet Under and Breaking Bad.
Take my opinion with a grain of salt though, I've been a massive fanboy pretty much from the start, even liked Season 2.
Oh man, going to watch them now, in a bit since I just came home. "eXit" was a fantastic episode that left me really wanting to see the finale. Apart from a few episodes here and there throughout the entire show that felt pointless, this has also been one of my favourite shows ever so I am a bit biased about it as well.

Very satisfying ending after a season with irregular quality. Huge reveal in the end that I couldn't see coming. I don't know if the Reddit nerds predicted it, though, I purposedly stayed away from those discussions.
I'm going to miss it so much, but like it was asked of me in that finale, I have to let go
