Well nothing necessarily wrong with Marxism. Leninism and the whole skipping a ton of the Marxist phases for communism to come about is the real problem. As I understand it, Marx just wanted to wait a couple of centuries for people to get sick of capitalism.

Lenin didn't want to wait, probably wasn't thinking straight due to the syphilis, and so we got Stalin.

I mean, Russia in 1917 was basically still feudal, and for Marxism, society would have needed to have achieved and gotten tired of capitalism beforehand.

Oh this will trigger some ppl anyway anyone who has actually played the game knows the game mocks communism about as much as any other ideology.

It mocks communism in a way, but it also laments over the failures of communism.

The people behind Disco Elysium knew how to use politics to make a thought provoking narrative and very few other games manage to achieve this. Most games that use politics these days do it in blatant way that betrays an agenda not an artistic desire.

For most of the game you can stir clear of almost anykind of politics and take no affiliation in any movement or political philosophy except the epilogue. So this is mostly a players choice how much this would influence him.

I thought the game was politically pretty neutral, because it exaggerates all ideologies including communism (which basically is all about killing the rich Laughing ).
But as class differences and struggles is an important theme throughout the game, I can imagine them being more inclined towards Marxism. I don't think a team of developers with more conservative political ideas would make a game about this.

What developers, writers and artists in general think and believe on a personal level doesn't really hold much importance to me. I only judge their creations, and the Disco is perhaps the best example of how a game can deal with political subjects in an organic and ingenious way without forcing specific ideals down the player's throat. The game just doesn't give a fuck about anything and doesn't put any boundaries to thoughts, which is the beauty of it Very Happy

Did they change the guy who does the voice for those honest game trailers?

Doesn't sound like I remember him and I think the old voice really lent itself to making the video amusing. But the writing for this one was pretty meh, so yeah, not even a chuckle.

The original narration was done by Jon Bailey. I think he only does honest movie trailers now.

As far as I know the devs expressed their desire to release a DLC/expansion in the near-ish future, so hopefully that's what's boiling inside the red cauldron. The console announcement is expected as well, also the Russian localization

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
