too used to game review scores where 60% or 6/10 is terrible I guess.
I kinda half-watched the latter part of the movie anyway. It might be good if you are into weepy parent-issues drama I guess.
Just couldn't stand the cheesy self narration and internal wanna-be-deep monologues.

Ad Astra 5/10, plot was too ridiculous to take as a serious sci-fi movie, I liked the setting and presentation, the subplot fathers/sons etc was okay but given how over the top the plot was kind of didn't pull me in.
Irishman 8/10, Really enjoyed this film, it's not Scorsese's best, Pesci and Pacino were impeccable, De Niro is goddamn incredible at these characters conveying so much often in solitude. I found the final 30 or so minutes and the themes to be pretty hard hitting.

Utter brilliant! Great to see these guys back together, and they didn't disappoint. 3.5hrs was not long enough, could watch them forever.

I'm halfway the Irishman (turned out to be too long for 1 sitting). So far, it's not bad but the de-aging is very off putting. I didn't realize until well in that De Niro is supposed to be in his 20/30s. They should have gone with a younger actor really.
There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.

Jumanji: The Next Level (2019) 6/10
It was an ok sequel, but I felt something was missing even though the mixing up of characters brought something new to the table.
I mean it was a fun movie, but the characters playing the old people was a hit and miss most of the time and the jokes ran dry pretty quick.

Ad astra 8/10
One of the best movies of this year and one of the best space movies ever.
Brad was amazing.
Soundtrack gave it a good touch that went well with the pace of the movie.
Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Daniel Isn't Real 8/10, this has been a good year for horror releases, it loses it at the end (where else could they have gone with it?) but overall thought this was a pretty solid movie.

It's a super simple dumb movie that is trying to say something, and it just can't. It's set in the 80s for no other reason than to look like the king of comedy. It has videos going viral...in the 80s...right. the "transformation" and cult following at the end make no sense.

I do not recommend this movie, its not even a sci fi/space movie, it just uses space as a backdrop for parent/drama issues, its a rly pedestrian movie, with some cringy in your face narration and monologues.. pretty weak, and i love movies like interstellar, moon, sunshine etc, this movie is so far bellow that... I respect if that user liked it, but its far far from a good movie, at all.
Lately most of these so called sci fi movies go for this drama stuff, i dont think it works at all, most ppl that want to see these movies dont rly look for sci fi to find them, and ppl that enjoy sci fi and space movies dont want to see these type of by the book dramas.

Its more of a philosophical movie . Its something different . It really depends on the mindset you have as a person. Its not for everyone.
I didn't even focus entirely on the main story until the very end .
I just went with with mood of the movie
And i gotta add, that i found this movie (even tho there weren't long enough scenes and more detailed) as one of the most realistic in terms of advancement of our species in space in terms of technology and as a civilization, in maybe a couple hundred years that have yet to come.
So if you want to watch a movie don't rely on reviews not even mine
I didn't even watched a trailer for it , i just went in
Once Upon a Time ... in Hollywood 7/10
It Chapter Two 6/10

Gone Girl - 3/10 just because the ending was just a massive let-down.
Otherwise would have been an easy 7/10

A good year for horror, here's my must see list:
- Daniel Isn't Real (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8745960/), final 15 mins is meh but otherwise solid, awaiting other hump impressions.
- Haunt (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6535880/), nothing special but decent budget gory horror.
- Midsommer (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8772262/), I loved the foreboding in the first half.
- Rabid (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5628902/), not perfect but decent.
- In the tall grass (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4687108/), good horror sci-fi mix.
Here's my don't see list:
IT2, New-Childsplay, Us, Crawl, DeathDay2, Pet Semetary, Glass(meh), 47 Meters Down, EscapeRoom(just misses he mark),

Spoiler: | I was so mad when he used that explosion to propulse him back. I really was. That and the plot that went to the outer reaches of nowhere. |
I thought the movie conveyed a real sense of scale of the space though. That was kind of impressive, and I suppose the cinema viewing helped here.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

Ad Astra was very cinematic and well shot but as far as the actual story goes it was incredibly shallow and outright silly.
Spoiler: | "Dad left when I was 13, it made me bitter yet I wanted to be like him. I have trouble creating connections with others and I don't see the point of living" |
The subject(s) may have depth but it was handled so shallow and in a very weird context.
