Disney has hired Jordan Dunn and Michael Kvamme to pen a script for an Aladdin offshoot centered on Prince Anders, the scene-stealing character played by Billy Magnussen in the live-action film released earlier this year, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Magnussen would reprise the part in a feature, which is in early development for Disney+, the company’s newly launched streaming service.

Magnussen had a hand in the project’s inception. He came to the producers with an idea for a story and was involved, along with the studio and Rideback, in meeting with potential writers.

last time i opened this thread I glossed over the scene-stealing part and I didn't even recognise that this was a character in the movie and its only been a week or 2 that I watched the movie
I didn't know he was a "scene-stealing character". Could have fooled me, to me it was pretty forgettable.
I haven't watched the film but the article says it's the actor that approached the producers and convinced them he should have his own series, so kudos to him if not for his ability to persuade, for his balls.
