I have 10gbit up and down... I don't need no "HD Space".

I went down in size. 1.75TB in the PC these days.
NAS has 8TB, thought a few times of swapping the drives for bigger ones.

Always get at least one more for redundancy. Saved my ass when one of the 4x5TB drives died. I migrated to 4x10TB. It took surprisingly less time than I was scared into believing it would take, and the NAS was quite usable, despite the restoration work.

What kind of NAS do you have?
I am planning to get either DS1618+ or DS1819+ with 32GB ECC Ram plus 4x10TB for starters in SHR..

I had DS415+, but it died, so I got a DS1819+.
What do you need the RAM upgrade for? The CPU isn't really up to the task for serious work on it.

That's what everyone recommends on Synology subreddit .
Anyway. I got NUC to watch movies anyway...NAS i basically just for storage. I suppose ram is overkill.

I use it for downloading torrents too, as a VPN, and so on. But none of those need so much RAM. The on-board is fine.

Yeah, I bet.
I saw Three Kingdoms was not "cheap enough" yet, then stopped to think " so spoiled"
