The CGI have the usual problem of weightlessness. Maybe in 2150?
Anyway, I enjoyed the action and the humour. Also, the adventurous/exploratory feel of it. There were many words I didn't understand, what is this fob thing for example?

Hell yes.
Just like the return isn't a 9.0 movie.
But it is a 9.0 star wars movie.
It's fantastic cause they finally did something within the star wars universe that isn't tied to a God damn shit family drama.
I embrace the new Favreau star wars universe.
Now do one like this but with a jedi and make it a samurai genre, not a western. (same shit just different eyes)

Guess you're new to IMDB, nothing uncommon with series in the 9+ range, especially early on. I bet it will settle at around 8.8 after the first season has ended.
It's not a 9.5 star wars show and I know it will probably change. It's an ok show, with familiar things, simple as fuck plot - up to this point mind you. It's pleasant, it's like watching kittens, uuuu the little yoda is cute, o! jawas or whatever they are called, I clap because I know things. Disney don't know what to do with this universe. It's mindless and fun, I have to admit but for me like The Flash.
I hate Star wars with a passion, never connected with it. Never had an allure for me. It was just there. It existed. This, just has star wars branding, but to me doesn't feel star wars. Feels removed. Feels different. Feels like genuine consequences are at play. So to me, it is a 9.5 star wars show.
It doesn't need to be deep.
It doesn't need to be fantastic. It just needs to work.
And unlike the movies or the cartoons I gave up on, this works for me. I'm enjoying this. I'm having fun with it.
Also if you ignore the star wars branding. It's a decent lonewolf and cub story. So there's that.

Very fitting actually since Star Wars itself was allrdy pretty much just a copy of Akira Kurosawas The Hidden Fortress.

Star Wars was very inspired by Flash Gordon too, there's lots of influences to find in it, western movies too..
This is far less SW with "a coat of paint" than any of the recent movies, which is why the fans likes it.
This is boring. Favreau went ahead and made the safest bet possible. Every story beat has been done a million times in any other action show. This is just generic tv series with star wars costumes. Oh and the CGI at times is really... CHEAP. Come on Disney, give us pirates something proper to download
