Well, I kinda hate to be that guy, but I got it today, and on my less-than-optimal setup.... I'm getting smooth 60+ fps no bother, at reasonable settings (almost all High, with a couple of exceptions, no crashing, no stuttering in towns... no launch issues... nothing.

I'm almost disappointed Laughing

This is one broken game! Can't figure out why I've been 'blessed' and others have not. Maybe my hardware isn't too powerful!

Perhaps tuning down the game helps or certain settings cause issues, my game was stable in safe mode. The point is, I realy have no clue what options cause the stability issues/glitching.
I did had a couple of hours of bug free gaming, now the menu/bottom screen glitch is back in Vulkan making menu's unreadable
Will try dx12 today again, but that gave me a lot of ctd's (ctd's in Valentine were all reported with gforce 2070 series and amd ryzen combo's).
Realy rockstar needs to fix their shit, these are all known issues and should not be all that hard to fix.

edit: dx12 still crashes my game, menu glitch is gone after deleting rdr2 profile (for a while at least)

Finally unlocked Trader yesterday.
~4 days of gaming to get 15 gold for the first activity unlock.

I should get bounty hunting today for free (Twitch prime unlock, today should be finally 72 hours since the claiming of the thingy).

Game is still fun, level... 21 so far.

And maybe that's why we don't want to spend 60€ on top of that on a single game, regardless of what game that is?

Maybe, but, you'd think nothing of spending $60 to upgrade your 8700k to a 9900k, given half the chance Wink
60€ for an upgrade across the board Vs 60€ for a single game? Of course...? Especially if the game will eventually be 0€, what kind of a comparison is that? Razz

I've had one crash, while walking around in the camp.
I haven't felt the urge to play it since...

There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.

https://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/61225/Red-Dead-Redemption-2-For-PC-Update

Over the past week, we have been working as quickly as possible to address issues that have impacted the launch of the PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2. As a result, we have already identified and resolved a number of these issues by deploying fixes to the Rockstar Games Launcher and some to the game itself.

However, we are aware that a small number of Red Dead Redemption 2 PC players are still experiencing some ongoing problems with the game stuttering. We believe this is due to unforeseen issues related to specific combinations of Nvidia graphics drivers, Nvidia GPU cards and certain CPU’s.

We will be rolling out an update to the game today which will address the stuttering issue alongside a host of other fixes. However, we are still currently working together with Nvidia to completely resolve the stuttering issue in a future update, and it may take us up to a few days to properly test everything and ensure the next update completely solves the problem.

We sincerely apologize for this temporary inconvenience and will update you as soon as we have more information to share – we want everyone to be able to experience Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC as we intended as soon as possible. If you are experiencing any issues that are impacting your experience with Red Dead Redemption 2 for any reason, please start by first visiting the troubleshooting page on our Support site for assistance: https://support.rockstargames.com/articles/360037908634/RDR2-on-PC-General-Troubleshooting

And as a show of gratitude to our PC fans while we sort this out in the coming days, everyone who plays Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC this week and through to the holiday season will receive a complimentary care package for Red Dead Online that includes the Prieto Poncho and an assortment of provisions and ammo. Look for more details on the care package to come.

Thanks again for your continued patience and understanding.

uh... I remember back in early windows XP times, I had I think...just a few GB HD. I think windows was taking ~500 MB or something?
I generally had to always uninstall the previous game when I wanted to play something new.
This was the time of D2 (I remember having to uninstall something to play D2 in a lan party)

I was fooled at the beginning i ran benchmark after the patch, but went out of the room and when i was back i saw 30-40 fps boost only to find out the fuckin game reset all settings to lowest Laughing So after returning old settings it was pretty much the same. They also added one new option in advanced section. Tree Tesselation (On/Off)

So basically instead of running at settings closer to what would be recommended for your FPS target you insist on certain settings or bust?

It looks quite bad with all lowest. The settings i have are good enough for me. Still averaging almost 70fps. The rare dips to 50 are annoying, but i prefer it over bad looking and solid 70+ fps.

I dont know if it fixed something for others since it worked fine from the beginning, but i got an fps boost with the same settings of 5fps. Before i had 50-60 fps and now it runs at 55-65 fps.
