I keep thinking of some show, where they use aerial shots with no music to transition between shows and establish geography. I thought it was True Detective, but it's not. So what show used this prominently? During the shots, the city sounds would play. True Detective has some aerial shots, but music plays and is a different mood completely.
I think it was a show. Probably crime show or drama.
Collateral and Miami Vice have something like that, but not what I am looking. Mann has fantastic compositions and Collateral is beautiful, but not what my mind is stuck on.
It's killing me. The shots have a flyby with the city noise. I'd settle for anything with that. It's like an itch I can't scratch.
