Yea, I went for the arguably best outcome, the questline gave alot of options.
I really don't get people's problem with the game, all the complaints are found in FO3 and FO4 as well, and to a worse extent.
Atleast the writing is good and NV-like, instead of being bethetic drivel.
I understand if 3d Fallout games in general aren't your thing, but this game does everything better than the Bethesda ones.
I would say the writing is better than FO4 which I didn't finish but I had a little bit more fun in exploration in it, probably due to familiarity with the setting.
I would say that OW are on par in writing with FO3 and and quite far from F:NV.
The thing is as always - that the original crew of Obsidian is long gone, except few execs like Fearguson. Chris Avellon for one fuck off to other projects. And this was written by some new names that have nothing to do with major RPGs like Planescape, Fallouts and other greats from the Black Isle/Troika crew.
I was somehow hyped and right now I crashed hard because of my exceptations. There is some good in this game but it's all hidden under medicrocity. After Spacer's Choice I was wondering how are other corporations but so far there is nothing special to them. Most people are just slaves and execs just want to brown nose to the Board. There is no distinction in architecture with different corpos, just slight different color of buildings. I got lost in 7 building area because it all looks the same. The same goes for armor, just different color schemes.
After 15h in game I don't feel like I'm on some grand adventure, I'm just a delivery boy for everyone I don't even really know why I do this. Oh! Hope - the colony ship, right... Is it important? You just thawn there... boy get me chemicals! Morty, Morty we gotta go, have an adventure but now stick this chemical in your ass, burrrp... all up there in the ass.
There is no backstory there, except there is a lost colony ship and there's Rick who wants to fight capitalism. Communism Ho!
You can ask about Hope but everyone just tells you that it's a myth. Get the motherf... chemicals.
While in Fallouts - because it's their retarded spiritual successor - you get some info about the world, how it was before the bombs, ironic, cynical, idiotic past. Here I hack a computer and read boring crap about someone loosing a finger - it suppose to be a joke - because it repeats itself but it isn't funny. The rest is: coporations doesn't care about their workers. Not even some backstory about corporations just corpo fuckery. Sometimes there is something funny but rarely.
It's thin - the world building.

I wonder how long it'll take till someone releases a mod/hack to bring more than 2 companions out on trips. Some of the old similar games had that made for them.
Friendship is like peeing on yourself; everyone can see it, but only you get the warm feeling that it brings.
One thing I found a bit frustrating is - there is no way to change companions on the fly.
You have to go back to the ship.
I was so used to doing that in Kotor.
Now when I encounter a high-lock/hack thing in a dungeon, I have to treck back, go to the ship, change to 2 lock/hack companions, go back, open the thing, go back to the ship, get my 2 brawlers and go back in the dungeon and continue from where I left..
pretty much same with all skill checks
also I miss body attributes improvements
so far I only found 1 head item, that was +15 eng and -1 perception
Anyone got any tips for reducing stuttering? Seems to happen when new stuff is loaded in!
Running an SSD :/
Unreal Engine 4 just has that as a thing, game is using 0 to 4 for presets too comparing the ini file so you're pushing the game engine to it's limits on the ultra preset if that's what you are using just to mention it.
Man, I should have played this before Disco Elysium.
After finishing DE and starting this it just seems really bland and catered to the console crowd, unlike DE which is one of my favorite games of the last decade.

I'm thinking about pausing DE so I can enjoy this title I've only gotten 1,5 hours of DE and it is amazing. But I want to enjoy this game too.

Well, nothing really compares to Disco Elysium when it comes to writing, not even Planescape Torment, which has aged a bit since it's original release.
At the end of the day, I understand why the "critics" from gaming media have rated this game so very high.
It's a damn, safe, streamlined, casual RPG.
The 9/10's are not coming from deep, meaningful choices, unforgettable / original characters or fantastic world building. It comes from a sentiment of gratitude towards the developers for not making this an unnecessary "demanding" activity for the brain...

Bored me numb. /uninst right after that first space station. Feels dead, empty, checklisty, cashcowy, sterile. Inventory's a chore. I liked how you can fuck up every quest tho.
Games seems to be a mix of good and bad moments, there's definitely a "cheap" and low effort feeling to this game (mainly regarding animations). Didn't play it for more than 4h though...
Good thing I didn't get hyped because I've never watched a single video about this one, except the announcement trailer. But as far as 2019's gaming fiasco goes, I guess this is the best we can get so far... Maybe CDX can save it by crackle the shite out of RDR2 who knows, maybe Patient_Pirate_Mode will deliver

Totally agree with you. This game feels so cheap, like an afterthought. There is no effort put into anything. I would've felt pretty cheated if I payed for it. Thank god for Game Pass.
Nah, they got nothing to worry about except their own stale devs, maybe. Starfield will sell a fuckton unless they do something hilariously stupid like try to curate mods or make the game online-only.
I stopped halfway through Monarch, I was really getting bored. The game is so unimaginative, unbelievable. Everything is bland and copy pasta of other games. Dialogue is pretty good, but also blabla. Don't even start about the story, it's very predicable and cliche.
I had more fun with Andromeda, and that's a disgraceful thing to say since this is Obsidian ffs. With this game, my love for Obsidian completely died
