The theatrical cut of Blade Runner is much inferior and introduces cheap film noir narration, it's badly acted and full of clichés. It fucks up the film's mystery and atmosphere. I think it's the main reason it flopped.
Also, it was probably a niche, kind of cyberpunk scifi movie, maybe it was released in the wrong time. Maybe it was way too ahead of its time in 1982. For me, it looks like a more recent film, like early 90s maybe. Then again, Terminator 2 doesn't look like 1991 to me, it looks late 90s ...
Ah yes, the "they lived happily ever after" shitty ending, too. Wtf. Ridley Scott is a hack He also insists the protagonist is a replicant .... Huh? That cheapens the whole film! He's so full of shit. The out of place unicorn scene should never have been there, what a hack.
The theatrical cut wasn't perfect but you're exaggerating. There were no extra scenes shot for it so to say the acting is bad and it was full of clichés is nonsense. Also, don't forget this was 37 years ago! What you see as clichés now, were likely not clichés back then.
The narrating is also fine to me - never understood the hate for it. The 80's had many TV shows and movies with narration from the (policeman or detective) protagonist that worked really well - Police Squad, Magnum PI, Naked Gun & Mike Hammer for example. These days, narration isn't that common anymore but it wasn't a deal breaking back then. People like you who say this are just parroting what they hear.
And what you mention are scenes added in the Director's Cut which were not in the Theatrical Cut which goes to show no version is perfect. I thought the unicorn scene didn't fit in either. But the movie is strong enough on its own that these changes don't harm it much.
The ending ... well the good ending didn't ruin the movie for me. It's not like it cast a very different shadow on the rest of the movie since Rachel was NOT that prominent. It was far more important to realize that someone that hunts androids would end up hooking up with one in the end, which shows he had a change of heart. How long she'd live is just a side-note.
Yeah, the soundtrack was released 12 years after the movie was released. I had "The City" (1990) before the soundtrack was released so was pretty aware of him at the time (I was into JMJ etc. as well).
I smell some tangerine dream as well... Have you listened to Ulrich Schnauss? His first two albums are in that line, and amazing.
Offtopic:
I'm still a HUUUGE Tangerine Dream fan (esp. the releases up to the mid-80'ies). They made some cracking soundtracks as well (Firestarter, Legen etc.).
Ontopic:
The theatrical cut with the shitty and silly happy ending was indeed subpar.
Oh, never realized that. It's not one of the songs I like off LN2. When I listen to White Eagle I usually skip "Midnight in Tula" since it's slightly chaotic compared to the last two tracks on the album.

I see. It features Alchemy of the heart as well, (Mansion level).
Good premise, weak execution. The plot twist was very predictable as well. There was too little character evolution and the constant jumps in time didn't help to make you feel part of the world since you knew that in 10-15 minutes time, you'd be moving ahead in time anyway. The ending is pretty darn weak as well. After they announced the plot twist, it's like they gave up.
Very good movie with some famous actors. The ending is a bit too "squishy" considering the darker tone of the movie (dealing with a break up) and it felt a bit too "perfect" but otherwise a very solid movie that was very enjoyable to watch.
Empire Records 7/10
Also about a record store but this time a more silly approach to it. Very very 90's and chock full of famous actors that were just starting out including the gorgeous Liv Tyler. It has elements of The Breakfast Club and St Elmos Fire in it - a dysfunctional group of people who hang out together and you discover things about them but in a much sillier way than you'd expect. I like it. It's wacky, nothing is taken seriously and I think it's the kind of movie I'd enjoy watching again every few years if I need a mental boost.
The Kitchen: 7/10.. Good movie!! Nice change of pace to see women taking over. Normally I hate all femanine based stuff (aka see all the recent hero movies showcasing women)...Not because its a women, just because the movie suck because they forced a women to be center staged. This one was done well. Liked the good guy assasin..brutal killings.. Recommended.
Parasite. Bong Joon-Ho fooled me again. The critics said it's great. It has a great meta critic score, yet it's again just a metaphor filled expose of what is the result if a capable film maker consumes too much of his own farts. I should have learned my lesson after snow piercer. It's my own fault to approach this with high expectations

6,5/10
With some changes it could have been great!
Snowpiercer wasn't great, but was good. What didn't you like?
Terminator Salvation: 8/10
I loved the action scenes in this and the acting, too. Good action scifi.

I am talking about the acting in the narration itself, I find it atrocious. The vast majority of people agree with me, hardcore fans and casuals. Takes away from the mysterious atmosphere.
The unicorn scene from what I understand was only in the Final Cut, not the Director's Cut. But it is the only drawback of that version, other than that it is superior. Implying the protagonist is a Replicant takes away from the replicant saving the human scene at the end.
The shitty ass ending is basically "and they lived happily ever after", also takes away from the mysterious atmosphere. The other cuts just end with the couple being renegades, which is more awesome.
The unicorn scene is in both DC and FC, albeit it's a bit longer in FC.
Ford said he hated the narration he was forced to record when the studio ordered it because test audiences could not understand the film and they had to explain it to them, and it has been long rumored he purposefully did a bad job. Ford has said that this is not true, he did not purposefully try to sabotage it, but he admitted that while he was recording it he thought it would not get used anyway, because the writing of it was awful.
The narration reminds me of hard boiled detective stories, so it has its charms if you ask me.
The workprint is also a version worth a watch. Its popularity is the reason the DC was made in the first place (which in turn was popular enough to convince the studio to make the FC).
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."

Hey, I actually liked this. It starts off really bad, like a parody film, with the tits boosting and Arnold walking naked into a stripper club ... but when the action starts things improve, later jokes land better, the story mostly makes sense and Arnold looks the part.
I think John Connor was miscast. Too bad Edward Furlong is such a fuck-up in his life, he could have played the part and he would have looked good doing it. Motherfucking drugs ...
Hamilton, Schwarzenegger, Davis are good. And everyone in general is serviceable.
The action is decent and there's a lot of it, although the setpiece with the plane, humvee, and the dam in the third act was a bit too much modern action/VFX-driven bullshit and I checked out.
The effects are good, everything looked fine really. For one they have fixed and edited differently the godawful shots from the first trailer. From later trailers, I'm sure the VFX has gone (nearly) unchanged, but somehow it's different on the big screen than on your pixel perfect monitor at less than 1 meter.
The script is ok. The most interesting bits are the scenes in the future, and some snappy dialog between Grace/Sarah or Sarah/Carl.
Unfortunately there's very little world building in the film. It's mostly a chase/action film.
The music is entirely unmemorable.. it could belong to any other blockbuster.. major disappointment with this one...
The tone of the film is far more in line with the first 2 films, it's not a parody like T3, or has "Marvel" quips like Genisys, or has replaced the Terminators with Throwinators like Salvation did.
Ultimately, what I have to say about it is that it's not a great sequel, but it is a film which can be called a sequel, in more legitimate ways than the previous ones could.
So overall: serviceable.

Arnold has died in 4 out of the 5 films in the franchise prior to this film and yet he is always coming back
How is that for an answer?

The action sequence with the crane-truck is still very awesome.
I liked T3 until the graveyard/coffin scene. It went full retard there
There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.
Literally 12 monkeys but slightly more modernized.
Uhm but 12 monkeys is a fantastic movie that I have re-watched more than anything else (maybe lock stock and two smoking barrels comes close). Do you dislike 12 monkeys?
It treats the scary parts of The Shining like ghosts coming at you at night. Booo, so scary.
You won't believe how much they overused the bathtub grandma in this one. Instead of scary, they made her a meme.
Cheap.
The film is also at least 30 minutes longer than it should have been.
The only really good part in it? Rebecca Ferguson.
