Why is it so prevalent to jump to something entirely different from what is said?
It's the same when 1 guy states something, 25 have a different view but then that one guy becomes 'everyone' or 'the hump'.

Yeah, there's always that vocal someone who just likes to use faulty generalization and embrace selective confirmation bias in order to point fingers. Whether it's hit 'n run bait or simple obtuseness, it never really produces any fruitful debate since the whole thing is based on incorrect information. many people on this forum stoped yaaring, not even yarr on release and buy it later, just buy and play it years down the line because of the same old bs reasons. and im expecting at least 10 more pages of the same bs complaints before the game releases.

facts
and its not about consume products and dont ask questions but this is not a ubisoft or ea game where the game is shit from the ground up with microtransactions.
rockstars games are one of the best games out there and the fact that i can play it on pc now with mouse and keyboard is a huge step up unlike rdr1 where i had to play with autoaim and horrible joystick camera movement, it just makes you enjoy the game even more. also one less game for my ps4 backlog, and its a huge one
but to not play it just because of the bullshit reasons i see around here is just... , imagine not wanting to play a rockstar game even if yaar...just yikes. might as well go vegan and live in a cave |
just imagine, not sucking rockstars cock just so you can use a mouse and keyboard. you may consider rockstars game the apex of gaming, but i don't.
if you want to talk about shit from the ground up with microtransactions, you still have multiplayer to look forward to

Speaking of the multiplayer, i've been playing it for the past 7 days, and have finally started to run out of things to do in freeroam. Overall, plenty of content in there to have fun with for a while, and it's still my go-to game when i just want to relax and hunt some animals.
Also went through the outlaw pass in 3 days, and hit rank 40 on the character (I rerolled characters a few times when i played the online last year), i think they nailed it on this end, it costs 35 gold bars to buy the outlaw pass, and you get all of it back if you manage to get to the max rank on it, which is very easy to do.
If you liked GTA Online, you'll like this too is what i'm saying. Last mention, there's so many series game modes in the multiplayer, i don't think i've seen them all yet, i keep getting new ones.

so do you get gold bars during normal gameplay?

Yep, every series activity gives about 0.10 gold bars and takes about 5 minutes per match, every daily challenge gives 0.20 (There's around 15 dailies with roles and such), completing 7 daily challenges gives 0.60 gold bars, and there's also lots of treasure maps and such throughout the world that give around 1-2 gold bars. There's also daily streaks that increase your rewards up to a maximum of 2.5x rewards per daily challenge.

I'm not the biggest R* fan, but it's a vastly superior game compared to GTA V. Arthur Morgan is probably the best character they've written so far.

Many prequels that come afterwards a title have many call-forwards or references that would be lost on a person who hasn't played the original title.
