Jesus. I miss the mid 90's (the period I was discovering art, cinema and life in general) where everyone could go to see a weird movie, a blockbuster or a dark documentary to be enjoyed, discussed and dissected with fellow cinema mates without being classified as this or that. Stupidity all around.
well if i had to play dozens of hours shitty games daily of the last 10 years, holy fuck, im amazed he isnt in the insane asylum by now or sucking publisher dick for that easy cash like all the rest of em, let him do what he likes, he earned it
i've always found him really annoying and totally unfunny overall.

I'll never understand why they decided to use that sick motherfuckers music in this movie?, hence, he will be eligible for a hefty royalty sum/sums, and most probably more that 'it' ever earned in 'it's' life.
I can only pray that he is never released on time to even have a sniff at it, but I doubt that.
And if he does not get an Oscar, well Fuck hollywood....
Yup, will prove it's all a fix if he does not win the Oscar, although, he will be up against De Niro for 'The Irishman', still, he should walk it by a good mile

well u have to take into account the movie before that he did, i was never here, had a rather similar deeply disturbed character so he had a good practice run before this one, but the laughing bit, is fucking hard ) i tried to laugh for extended time, its really hard )
and well we all know what hollywood thinks about pedofiles after pianist stuff hehe
Excellent movie and such a well put together origin story. It’s slow but the transformation from Arthur Fleck to Joker both mentally and visually is really well done. Definitely an award winning performance from Joaquin Phoenix. I was gripped from start to end.
The last few scenes were excellent. Needs a sequel with the same actor for sure.
9/10
One thing I couldn’t figure out was why ...
Spoiler:
The fuck did he shut himself in the fridge?! And the next shot he’s lying on his bed. Is the reason and the only reason I could think of just to show how crazy he is?
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."
The fridge can be seen as a womb of sorts, with Arthur climbing inside taking the fetal position and emerging anew as Joker. This also reinforces the idea that he's a product of his environment - cold and dark.
Another would be that it's a suicidal fantasy, which would explain why it quickly cuts to him lying on the bed.
