Prey ~7/10
It was... better than I expected. In some ways it didn't feel like a Predator movie which makes the title more fitting. But I enjoyed it. The beginning dragged on too long though...

Thor: Love and Thunder - 6/10
Not as terribad as supposed, had some slapstick humor that hit home and was emotional at places in a good way, but the big strokes of "look, we are funnier than thou" were embarrassing. A lost chance? Maybe.

Thor Love & Thunder: way, way too many stupid jokes that weren't funny. First half was inconsistent and terrible, 3/10, second half was much better, 7/10, so total 5/10. C. Bale was cool, but the rest was disappointing. Movie could've and should've been much better.

Dirty Harry 7/10
The killer's MO goes all over the place the story is a bit messy, but it's still great. Without Clint Eastwood it would have likely flopped though
But it started off so many tropes, it's really fun to identify them all The hard-ass cop, the cat & mouse game between cop & killer, the locations (the sports stadium, the factory), and so on.
Unforgiven 8/10
Great western, back to the basics and no-nonsense action. Morgan Freeman felt miscast though.
Three Days of the Condor 6/10
Heard of the title and the premise was cool (low-level CIA agent, Robert Redford, goes from his office to get some lunch, only to return to find everyone killed).
But I found it a bit dated, especially the relationship between Robert Redford and Faye Dunaway (that rape/Stockholm syndrome sex scene was the most uncomfortable thing I've seen in a while ). It's based on a book, so it might be worth to remake.
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid 7/10
After re-watching the Spaghetti trilogy, it was interesting to see an American western from this time (this one came 3 years after The Good, the Bad and the Ugly).
It begins very slow and weird, even. It's like they also wanted a recognisable and popular song, like Morricone, but then went with "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head" The (still stupid) song and music video are completely out of place, and I was close to turning it off.
Luckily, it picks up after the failed train robbery, and then it becomes quite good. The snappy dialogs and bickering between the 2 leads is very entertaining.
Invasion of the Body Snatchers 7.5/10
(the 1978 version, obviously). Smart use of all types of visual effects and editing, make it still very watchable. The garden scene with the pod giving 'birth' to Donald Sutherland's double is still disturbing. One of my all-time favorites
The Running Man 7/10
It's silly, yes, but seeing it in this day and age, with characters talking about "getting canceled" and the studio deep faking videos (movie's from 1987!), it feels as modern as ever
Spin Me Round 7/10
Wouldn't have watched it if RLM didn't review it, but it's indeed a fun little movie, and Alison Brie is indeed a great actress for a role like that.
There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.

Junk Head (2017) 7/10
Now this was interesting, stop motion animated movie about dystopian future.
It's visually very intriguing and grotesque at the same time. Dialogue is incoherent, but it's not annoying or it didn't annoy me.
Looking forward to the sequels.

Bullitt: 7/10. Good movie, great car chase scene, odd ending. Seems it has been remastered for DVD at some point, but most scenes didn't look great tbh, could do with a proper remaster.

Where Eagles Dare: 8/10. Nice one, explosions and some of the acting has a bit of 60s sillyness, and special effects don't look great being a 60s movie, but it's forgiven. The story is good. Deserves a proper restoration as some shots look rather poor.

I thought it wasn't bad. But I expected more gore and more grittyness. I don't know how to explain but alot of modern moves seem to clean or sterile in some way. Maybe simply due to the cgi and high resolutions.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

Bullet Train "Fuck you diesel bitch": 7/10. A bit silly at times, and also a bit too long, but fun to watch.
Unforgiven (1992): an odd duck. Well directed and acted, but the story didn't make too much sense, 7/10.

Nope - 5.5/10
Way too slow build-up. It's like Jordan went "Hey, this is a cool idea, is the script completed? - Nah man, it's just a synopsis! - Fuck it, we'll go with the synopsis as is and fill out the blanks as we go". So yeah, interesting idea that didn't really go anywhere. The characters relationships etc. didn't really work either. :/

Vesper - 7.5/10
Let's say this was totally right in my alley, I'm a sucker for IFC, A24, XYZ scifi films. And it has great acting, neat FX, originality and an absolutely marvelous world building! But the story dragged and felt kinda pointless in the end. And it shouldn't. Overall feeling: almost there.

Bullet Train - 5/10
It's nicely shot and fairly well acted, which usually would be enough for an action romp if it weren't for the thick layer of extra-clownish style that the movie really loves to embrace. Almost like an anime in film form, and regrettably, that's a nope for me.
Speaking of nope, Nope - Nope/10
As it turns out, Get Out was just a fluke. Shyamalan 2.0 progress status ████████░░ 82%
Eden Lake - 6,5/10
The movie is entirely engineered to rile you up and piss you off, so one can say that it fully achieves its goals. However, it also uses plenty of cheap tricks and tropes which devalue the experience, eventually turning it into a uwotm8 parody of itself which probably wasn't the director's intention.
Goodfellas - 8,5/10
A rewatch was definitely in order after so much time since my first viewing, and it didn't disappoint. Solid direction from ol' Scorsese with the typical tracks used to reinforce transitions, a great Liotta as well as De Niro, surrounded by the vibes of Brooklyn's prosciutto wiseguys. The real star however is Joe Pesci and his perpetually erratic mood, you never know when he's going to snap and a smile could mean anything
It was nice to see so many characters from The Sopranos also, with small but important roles before they got the spotlight that they deserved.

Hellraiser (2022) - 2/10 (It's shot well and the costumes looked good = 2 points).
A very 2022 movie. You strip away 90% of the original story, have no characters, no real plot but just give people puzzle box and pinhead. Because the audience is too stupid for a story and characters and what we have here is all that people need that actually the buy tickets anyway.
There were sections of this movie with 20+ minutes of no dialog, just girl walks around, girl gets puzzle box for close to no reason, here are some cool costumes member those? It sucks because the original really does have good themes, a decent plot and is not just a monster slasher movie.
