They are already repeating the Hitman 2 Elusive targets or is this Sean Bean at a different location to be killed again? I never really understood why they didn't just add all the elusive targets to the last game once the full set was done as you would think they would want players to have more things to do since they spent the dev time anyways for those missions. I really doubt anyone would care if they were added to be run anytime as I am sure more would welcome a chance top replay some them again anytime they wanted.

There's something seriously wrong with that. They should be 'nice things to do and figure out' and not things tied to progression. It wasn't so bad at first, but it sometimes takes me 3-4 nights to clear an entire level and unlock everything (which is a drag on a shitty mission/map). Earning money + buying things + collecting things from missions was a much better, less grindy system. And if you look at it objectively, that's all these things are, ways to lengthen what would otherwise be levels you spend a few hours on.
I agree completely and its why I haven't purchased the expansion pass for the game.
I think the biggest problem is that I just want to jump into a new game, complete it in my own way, and get points, however you get literally nothing for that.
Instead I have to look at the challenges, open up Youtube and look at all the stupid things I have to do to get the challenge completed.
I really had high hopes once they went independent but if anything it seems worse, not better.
I want a real sequel to blood money but that will probably never happen. Even a remaster with better AI would be great.
Despite all the problems and limitations that the reboos have (gimped or missing features, grind-friendly online forced structure, the overabundance of generic items, console feeling and so on) I'm really glad that they do exist. Hitman 2016S02 especially has very well designed sandbox-y layouts and opportunities - provided that one disables the silly hints and the mini-map, as always both mandatory steps in my opinion.
I tried replaying Absolution last week out of curiosity, I wanted to see if after all these years it was a bit more tolerable...oh dear, the answer was an obvious giant nope. That one truly is an unredeemable mess, just like its distant special relative Pantherviction.
I don't own the full version of Hitman 2 yet but thanks to owning part 1 and the free first zone from part 2 I end up doing all the Elusive Targets I can but if I was someone that bought part 2 for those targets I would really be disappointed as they just seem to be doing all the Legacy targets so most players have already done all them in the first game. It seemed like in the last game we had new Elusive Targets every few weeks or so. Hopefully once they finish all the Legacy ones, the Hitman 2 players will end up getting a lot of their new targets at that point.
Question:
I'm getting Hitman 2 (it's currently 75% off), and I own but have not yet played the first one. I read that if you have both Hitman 1 and Hitman 2 the missions of the first game come included in the second game. Should I play Hitman 1 first or start the Hitman 1 missions from within Hitman 2? Is it the same as if I played the first game or are there any differences? (e.g. graphics, progression, equipment etc.)
Yeah I did some more research and overall it seems smarter to play them from within H2 right away. I don't like some of the lightning changes they did to the levels though.
Why would you play the first game if you can play the missions from within Hitman 2 ? Why ? Why ?
Well, maybe they are remade or expanded? Like having more weapon choices or slightly different areas? That's what he thinks, I guess. But as far as I know they are the same.
But it does work other way around as well? I can play season 1 and grind for season 2 gear? If the game is so grindy it would be nice to have it spread over twice the amount of levels.
They redid the lightning with the recent patches. Its still not as good as in the first game but still better then at release. However this is not the kind of game i would replay over and over just for the different starting locations and gear you get along, it's not that interesting tbh.
Finished the Training now, it's perfectly fine from within Hitman 2 indeed, no need to ever play the first one.
Postprocessing is not as bad as in old comparison videos but still I use ReShade to fix the illumination/hazy screen. Sadly the game crashes periodically with ReShade in dx11. In dx12 ReShade does not work/game not starting. Are these known issues, any fixes?
I currently use Nvidia Freestyle+ReShade in dx12 mode, it seems to be stable and working but I prefer the original ReShade UI.
I'd strongly recommend turning off the (spoilery) hinting system, the mini-map and most of the UI clutter, since figuring out all the multiple ways to murder objectives without any handholding is the way these games are meant to be played. You are then forced to carefully study the layouts, listen to conversations and analyze AI patterns, making the experience incredibly more immersive and close to the old-school Hitmen.
For me, the best way to enjoy HITMAN 2 without falling into silly nextgen XPee-based grinding spirals was to grab the latest Denuvo-free version, use a save with all the gadgets available for the offline and play/replay levels full sandbox-y constraints-free mode. Just like good ol' Agent 47 would do.
I turned off the minimap and the guide system. Gonna keep instinct mode it should save some frustration especially since you can't peek through keyholes anymore.
Ixi did you play the missions on Professional or Master difficulty the first time?
I also noticed you get a score bonus for time, is it possible to still get SA rating if everything is perfect but the time it takes is very long?
