No idea. Wait for proper reviews and impressions from humpers Wink

Personally, I'm getting Code Vein instead of surge 2 just coz it supports co-op.

I would prolly get both games but I had to spend lots of money lately and I can't afford two games atm.

1) Lenovo Legion 7 (AMD Ryzen 7 5800H, RTX 3080 16Gb, 32Gb DDR4, SSD 1TB +2TB

2) SFFPC (streaming via Moonlight+ Sunshine)

review from a site i've never heard of

https://www.pcinvasion.com/the-surge-2-review-not-quite-a-rush/

only really read the performance bit, seems like they had problems (720p and on low dropping to 20fps. Sad if true) but i couldn't find any specs for their rig

Game seems stuck at 30FPS. Same odd behavior that was going on with Control. Bizarre.

At least theirs DS4 prompts working without having to fiddle with Steam.

EDIT: Performance is pretty terrible so far for me. I mean I'm on a 3GB 1060 but I'm not seeing why this game should be taxing this card. . .or refusing to go above a locked 30 frames.

Game is not locked for me (there are options to set frame limits) but holy moly, the performance is crap.

I run at 3440x1440 with a 1070 and the original runs great but not this.

And I'm not seeing a reason why. Gears 5 looks superb and runs great, this looks like shit and runs like it.

I've only played 5 mins though Razz

It's running fine for me, the game is running via Vulkan, so big plus for AMD cards.

Afterburner doesn't show any monitoring info in this game.

What RTSS settings are u using?

For some reason of absolute clarity the game has a Vulkan-1.dll file in the bin folder overriding whatever local runtime version is installed, version 1.1.70.0 which is kinda old and the newer ones can be downloaded from here:
https://vulkan.lunarg.com/sdk/home#windows

I just threw the old one out, newer ones mainly work with newer SDK releases but do also contain bug fixes and such plus it's backwards compatible so I tend to update it although both AMD and NVIDIA should be bundling relatively new versions of this in their most recent drivers too. Smile

Add game exe to the list in RTSS then enable Stealth Mode and Detection level to High. This brings it for me with MSI v4.6.1 and RTSS v7.2.3

Got the game refunded through Steam. Will just toss that towards Code Vein (tried the demo and it scratches the itch).

So performance issues AREN'T a bad thing for folks on this forum now? I guess the ire is only reserved for AAA games then.

For me the game doesn't seem as responsive as the previous one. The Surge could teach Dark Souls a thing or two about responsive controls. Here dodging feels weird at times as if the damage received is not in sync with the enemy's animations.

Considering this uses Vulkan I am surprised at how clunky the performance is on RX 580 8GB. Everything max it drops below 60 fps often, down to like 50.

For example World War Z that also uses Vulkan with all maxed runs well above 60

There was a time we said gameplay over gfx and all that. Not anymore i guess. Naturally if the performance is so horrid that it's more or less unplayable then i get it, thats bad. But this isn't it now is it? It's more about people ramping up their settings into space with mediocre hardware, and complaining when it doesn't run like butter.

So I've just started playing and why the fuck I can't dodge? I press space and nothing happens.

Don't tell me dodge only works with the armor on... Laughing

PS YUp..you can only dodge with the armor on..lol...

I have not played it, but watching some of the more recent gameplay videos it made me feel like in the pursuit of making the game more feature-rich it ended up as less polished. Can't pinpoint exactly what it is, it's just small things here and there that add up.

This might be one of those series for me where even tho the sequel is technically a better game, I might enjoy it less. I'll see whenever I'll get to play it I guess.

I'm really enjoying this game. I wish we could play as a ranged character but still..it has been pretty enjoyable experience.
