I had to switch from normal english subs to foreign language english and back over and over again. Movie was okay but that was kind of a drag.

Which carpenter movies releases are considered as better remasters? (The Fog, They live, Escape from, The Thing)
Shout factory or Studio Canal? Some have also Arrow release... I think.
Not only do I have to care about theatrical cut, us cut, european cut, directors cut but now I only have to choose what remaster do I want.
And the 4k/hdr stuff is even more maddening. All new releases are 4k hdr. There are no 4k SDR releases.... And as someone who watches movies on a 4k hdr monitor... hdr fucking sucks since monitors are not there yet when it comes to hdr, so I want my movies in poroper not emulated SDR and that means 1080p releases.
Pc monitors cannot achieve true HDR(aside from 2 expensive shitty monitors) but limiting it to 100/120 nits and displaying in sdr (madvr) produces usually bad colors not comparable to real sdr release.
So that leaves me with 1080p releases. Those are never hdr but now You cannot know for sure if the publisher mastered 1080p separately or only mastered 4k hdr version and made 1080p sdr version from that just like madvr can do it...

http://www.dvdcompare.net/
That's the ultimate comparison for dvd & bluray movies.
Example link to The Thing (1982): http://www.dvdcompare.net/comparisons/film.php?fid=13548
If you click on the link at the top of that list named "OVERALL: Draw" you'll get to the releases that are the best (using the same source most likely)
Quote: | The US Scream Factory Steelbook, German Turbine DE, and the UK Arrow release for containing exclusive extras with the 4K remastered version of the film.
Blu-ray A Scream Factory Steelbook America- Shout! Factory - No cuts. Includes the Theatrical Version (108:34) and Network Television Version (93:45) |
Also check out the Review for a particular release by clicking the REVIEW-button to the right of a particular release title. Here's a review for the one of the best The Thing releases: http://www.dvdcompare.net/review.php?rid=4502

Let’s get to the real reason you’re reading this review: the transfer. As someone who has owned the film on VHS, DVD, UK DVD, HD DVD, UK Blu-ray, and U.S. Blu-ray I can say with absolute certainty that Scream Factory’s new image, culled from a 2K scan of the inter-positive, is a revelation. Approved by the “Dean of Darkness” himself, Dean Cundey, the picture is astonishingly clear, exhibiting the kind of clarity you’d expect from something made recently. Film grain, previously scrubbed away on Universal’s release, has been restored to its proper glory. Colors are cool and hewed toward the blue end of the spectrum, appearing more in line with the film’s aesthetic than ever before. Black levels are solid as a rock, never hazy or wavering in total darkness. Definition and fine detail blew me away like never before. Mac’s flamethrower looks like it’s about to blast a flaming hole right through the screen. Even better, Bottin’s FX work only looks better under this kind of scrutiny. Sometimes prosthetics and latex show their age in this HD era; the opposite is true in this case, with more of the fine details in the FX work evident. I really can’t say enough positive things about the picture here. Incredibly stunning work by Scream Factory; maybe their best catalog effort yet. |
As for HDR: turn that shit off and watch movies the way you're supposed to watch movies. I seriously doubt you'll find HDR among any remasters of classic movies.

I googled that for ya.
Parabellum DVD and Blu-ray release date is set for September 10, 2019 and available on Digital HD from Amazon Video and iTunes on August 23, 2019.
Personally, I am waiting for September for the proper release.

Spider-Man Far from Home 2019 1080p HDRip X264 AC3-EVO
EXTRA NOTES: Source is 60 fps.
Meaning, IT MIGHT NOT PLAY CORRECTLY on Plex and other streaming devices.
Not an enconding issue. Its a source thing. Release is perfectly fine.
NOTES: Clean copy, no hardcoded subtitles. Enjoy.
