thanks for sharing! This past summer, I traveled down to Nashville to celebrate one of my close college friends turning 30.
A group of us were out to dinner at this melt-in-your-mouth fried chicken joint, having a blast, downing craft beer, when the topic of vehicles somehow came into play. And at the end of the conversation, my friend turned to me and said this: "You know, you probably make the most at this table, and you drive the crappiest car." I laughed, she laughed, and the night continued. Here's the history: I purchased my Pontiac G6 way back at the end of sophomore year of college when the vehicle I was driving at the time (and what a wondrous six-passenger grandma boat she was) decided to turn off all A/C capabilities. I couldn't imagine enduring an Indiana summer with just the breeze to cool me off on my car rides, so my parents agreed it was time to retire my high school ride (200k+ miles and all) and get me something a little more reliable. So in came the G6, and she quickly became the apple of my eye. If you knew what my old car looked like, you'd know why this was a major upgrade in my world. Flash forward 10 years, and she is still with me, although not looking in as good of condition as she was during those college summers. She's got a dent in her side (courtesy of an early morning airport run and a very tired me — don't ask), scratches on the front bumper (it was a battle with a fence that I lost), and her fair share of wear-and-tear on the interior. Was at https://invertero.com/best-power-inverter-for-car/ again today and got the prices of the 2 inverters they had there. One is the Samlex PST-120 Pure Sine Wave Inverter 120W and the other one is the Sine Wave инвертора Samlex PST 2000W. Is the first model that much better than the normal one that it justifies the higher price? I'm new to this kind of stuff but it'd be nice to be able to power stuff without a generator next time the power goes out.

I still have my 2001 ford focus .... for 5 years now. It somehow still fucking works even though I treat it as disposable piece of garbage.
Guess my next car will be ford too. preferably automatic since manual shifting is just stupid for my use

Yeah, I agree. Pretty cool (I've had both Peugeot (405) and Citroëns (BX19, XM V6 3.0) in my days.

Peugeot and Citroen always came up with delightful and superb looking concepts ... which remain in that state, as their production models lack in being interesting.

Meanwhile, well priced small cars may not be something that's going to last; I've come accross this article at work today, according to which markets (here, the real estate one) are preparing for a normalisation of autonomous cars and for the impact it can have on their activity (here, building and buying houses) by 2040, earlier for some.
On one hand, everything will be more expensive, I won't be able to drive my second hand Lada anymore, but at least, hey, we'll be one step closer to living in a sci fi world Very Happy

What are your thoughts on the newer Audi Q2s? 1.5TSI (150hp), DCT... Anything comparable SUVs out there? Preferably something not looking like a juke or a boring dacia. The Hyundai Kona looks fine too (also with 177hp and much more extras for the same price) but it's a bit too plasticy on the outside?

I have a negative opinion on the new trend of "city SUVs"

otherwise, I recently put polyurethane bushings all-round
replaced the front stock anti-roll bar (18mm) to a high-grade steel 22mm one
put in a rear adjustable anti-roll bar 20mm (there was none stock), which is currently set at softest setting

and now there's SO MUCH MORE GRIP, cornering is insane, also breaking has significantly improved Very Happy
additionally the car feels much more.. planted?

here's a pic of the new rear bar on the car, had it's suspension alignment checked and calibrated

I guess these changes would've cost the manufacturer less than $100, right? Why don't they put this stuff there in the first place?

it costed me about 700eur in total
600eur parts + delivery from UK, and 100eur work
I doubt VW can make the parts for 100eur, maybe 300?
but on the other side the poly bushings have a life expectancy of over 300k km if properly mounted

this makes the car less forgiving, also a bit firmer, not everyone likes a firm planted ride
also generally understeer is deemed safer than oversteer, that's why most regular cars are made to understeer a little
