They will probably protect your privacy, just want you to stop doing that, but they still want your business (aka. your money;))

I actually had a question regarding this.
When using BT to download a file, you
A.) Download the file and
B.) Upload tiny parts of the file to different people.
Because you never upload an entire thing (unless you seed it for a long time) would this even be prosecutable?

Happens here in sweden too, the thing here is that the organisation that sends the letters have no juridiction to do jack shit so they send warnings and then maybe another and they probably get tired of it after awhile.

If that were the case then you would see ftp servers with 1/2 the rars and cooresponding ones with the other rars.

I think the whole thing is copyrighted, so even a small amount of data transfer is an infraction.

But if the data in question (the small pieces) don't do anything on their own, like they can't be viewed by themselves...
But yeah, I know the argument falls flat it would be cool if it didn't... or if we took a cue from the frenchies

you don't even have to be a member
just search and click.
it's slow as fuck, but since I barely use torrents, I can wait a few hours for the odd mp3 album that I can't find elsewhere.

True, it doesn't matter if you only upload a tiny fraction of something. Even with sites they take the logfiles as solid evidence, even if racestats etc. can easily be manipulated.
