Captain dark Phoenix of the y-women - 4/10
Had no emotion whatsoever. Felt bland. Like an expensive youtube sketch. Plot eerily similar to captain marvel. With eerily similar ending.

Sticks n stones : 8/10 ha this politically incorrect humour (legit for real and for true the category this is under in Netflix) is hella funny. - 2 points for being hit over the head with a dollhouse.

I give it an 8.5/10, it was fun and did not outstay its welcome.

The Dead Don't Die - 7.5/10

It's different alright. A zombie movie with a script that seems like it was written by someone that took a big bong hit and downed a fistful of Xanax. It's got a strange and very calm kind of absurdity to it that I liked. A lot of references to "stuff", some funny (not in a haha way) acting by Bill Murray, Danny Glover etc. I basically smirked quite a lot while watching it. And Tilda Swinton's role is so weird, adding extra color to what is essentially a low budget zombie comedy where both the zombie genre and comedy genre have been somewhat mellowed out in an interesting way. In fact, the whole movie feels like Bill Murray's "it's not important"-personality.

Will you like it? It depends on what you're expecting. Come in with no expectations and just accept what they're doing and you'll probably enjoy it like I did.

Agree 100%.. Ignore the IMDB ratings.. this one is good. The slow talking, scenes, etc work amazing! The things zombies said were great!! Coffee....Chardeney.. All Star cast!! Salma is still hot!! and even a star wars keychain for Driver.. Go see this!

Apollo 11 : 7/10
Wow.. this was unexpectedly good. Once i saw CNN, I almost deleted it..but this was some good stuff. Get to watch the first landing on the moon first hand. Crazy how NASA HQ allowed everyone to smoke, tons of huge mainframes, just so cool to see old stuff from 1969.. Def check it out if you enjoy Space exploration.

Parasite (2019)

8/10

I liked it. I didn't expect the second half of the film to turn into some crazy and serious drama though Laughing

Really? I haven't watched the movie but the trailer made me think "crazy and serious drama"-style movie which I decided to skip.

Not so much drama, I think, but there is a shift in tone. I was a bit surprised with some of the violent scenes, considering it's supposed to be more of a (albeit dark) comedy.

The contrast between the initial lighthearted premise (with shades of parody) and the following grim thriller-esque bits is what makes it special in my opinion. Everything escalates so abruptly Very Happy

'grim' is a good way to put it. My gf called the movie a (modern) fairy tale, I think that fits. Smile

John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum - 7/10

Production values get better and better (but watch out for terrible green-screened bridge motorbike scene), but I'm kinda over the senseless violence of this film series. Why not put a little story in the film as well? They have a good thing going with the assassin mythology they have established, I dig it, but it's a scene here, a scene there, and it's gone... back to killing.

Reeves barely speaks at all (maybe for the best, acting-wise), so aside of Wick being a killing machine, I feel like there's nothing more to learn about him..

Hopefully the TV series will force them to develop the actual story a little bit instead of just the action.

IT: Chapter 2 - 6.5/10

Definitely worse than the first chapter. More humor, more jumpscares, shitty and incoherent, pacee breaking middle act, some weak script parts, engaging last act.

Lethal Weapon 5
ie.
Dragged Across 2,5 hrs

4 / 10

WTF was the point of this movie?
not even 1,5 hrs of content stretched over 2,5 hrs, so much useless and mind numbingly boring downtime, the writing overall was shit, acting from Mel Gibson was the only acceptable thing in the whole movie. If it was a dumb action movie atleast, but nope, there wasn't even 10 minutes of that in the whole thing, and it was shot so amateurish that it doesn't look better than some fanmade film.

The Dead Don't Die 8.5/10

Really great humour, super dry and tongue in cheek. Bill Murray and Adam Driver steal the show, but the cast list is pretty damn amazing.
Instant cult classic.

Dark Phoenix 6/10

I have the feeling I've seen this movie before, several times Laughing
It wasn't as awful as I feared, just generic and by the books.

Yesterday. Solid 7.
Had no idea it was Boyle. His indie style with a high budget still shows. Solid fun.

Anna (2019)

6.5/10

Just watch the original Nikita or even the old TV show instead. The only good action scenes were shot in the restaurant, the story was mediocre, the three lovers story sucked (not that I have anything against this, it's just that it was written pretty badly and there was zero chemistry between all of the characters involved)

I'm a big effin' Jarmusch fan, and this made me sleep a couple times at the cinema. Cool that you like it, but it's far from his best films.

Nah, this was a real bore. Beautiful photo perhaps, but the movie totally lacked atmosphere and tension, i also didn't care for the characters at all which is a shame since it had some pretty good actors.

It's not a movie I'd see in theatres, anyway. I was prepared for a slow burner from other reviews here, and I thought it was quite obvious from early on that the zombies were more of a macguffin.
I don't think the movie had the goal to create tension (or even atmosphere). Zombie Iggy Pop made that clear Very Happy

To me it felt to much like a shiny surface with nothing beneath, generic (even though they were going for something "different"). Atmosphere is important for any movie, but you're probably right that it wasn't going for any kind of tension really.

Aniara 7.7/10

Probably the best Swedish sci-fi movie out there (not that there's a lot). It felt kind of like Tarkovsky meets Battlestar Galactica. It had a few cringe moments where Swedes are just being swedes, stuff that i absolutely predicted would be there - plenty of scenes with women screaming their guts out, an orgy, lesbians, naked butts.

But i like what they did with the (probably) small budget they had. It's an interesting plot. The characters is its weakest part. I wish it had more nature scenes, they were beautiful.

It's slow (no were near Tarkovsky though), dark and depressing, Swedes are after all masters of that. I was sometimes imagining it with Russian actors / speech instead and i was surprised of how overjoyed that made me and it made me realize i liked it more than i wanted to admit to myself (because fuck Swedes, in general). If you're in for some slow and depressing sci-fi you might like it Very Happy
