They're probably figuring that doing it like that they will please a few "woke" gaming sites and that will up the overall review scores somewhat. i doubt any gaming site is gonna give it a lesser score due to this detail. There might be a few more negative user reviews but it most likely matters less to them than gaining approval with these woke sites.

I agree, as long as the player still has the complete choice to be whatever he/she/they/zie/ey/tey/RAH-66 Comanche wants without forced directions everything is fine in my book. Plus it's cyberpunk 
Things will change if specific artistic choices will be bent to pander to certain audiences, but so far there is no indication of those (yet). I remember the CD artist behind those recent "controversial" ads for instance being very reasonable about it, politely shutting down the silly offendatrons and the whole fabricated outrage. |

Everything can be pushed too far, you're not wrong to be sceptical, cynical or just cautious about the direction games and media are going in general. But in an RPG with character creation, I don't think it is wrong to give players more and more options. I'd go as far as to say if they added shit like cat ears and angel wings in an official capacity (we all know modders would add that if possible), I'd be ok with it. I see this as more options for customization, and it's not just for the sake of inclusiveness, or politics. Just don't do it like Bioware or Ubisoft.
I mean back then a majority of games won't give male characters makeup options. Even though it is a very common practice. Maybe not in everyday, but public appearances, films, photoshoots, etc.

I was wondering why they couldn't add a third option and call it "non-binary" to exist alongside the normal "male" and "female" options. With this third choice, all the character creator options that were limited to males and females would be available.
1 and 2 are still amazing.

what does my "political bias" has to do with the fact that movies and games are being politicized? i wouldn't want games to be pro-Trump or pro-conservative or whatever, it doesn't belong in games.
This has very little to do with it belonging to the cyperpunk universe, yes it might be easier to get away with it than if it was a pure fantasy game, but since it's a recent change and not something which was planned from the start, its easy enough to understand what has happened here.

It is a cultural thing, not political. So all these decades with a male/female choice we were bigots and now we are seeing the light, thanks to some mentally ill, gender confused people? Why enable them? It is irresponsible, same as the HAAS movement and the instagram thots using photoshop and angles to show off an unrealistic body type.
Anyway, if the game itself isn't an SJW-infected story and doesn't have characters that are carricatures, it's fine. Not like I'm buying AAA 50-70 euro games, that is retarded.

It's 100% political, these Reset Era types arent even gamers for the most part, they're political activists. Just browsing a few threads there and no one ever really writes "i was gonna buy the game, but now i won't" instead you see posts like "i wasnt gonna buy it anyways" and in the case of Ion Fury you still would not find any "Good that they listened to us, now i'll buy and support them!", its because they don't give a shit about the games.
Fanboys defends this with "but it can fit within the lore". But this is not why CDP changed it, they were very clear that the change is because they want the game to be "more inclusive", direct quote. i'm not sure how that works though.. IRL it's just alienating to 99.9% of the population since most people do not consider themsevles gender-fluid or non-binary. they'll sure make those 0.01% people happy though because they're the ones they want to represent.
Nah, fucking derps, even fanboys should see it. It would be one thing if this was a deep lore within CP, but afaik its something they came up with now,in a rush to please 0.001% of their buyers + some "woke" gaming sites.
I'll play it anyways but its one of these things that can make me wonder if its a company i want to support with my money.
