Assuming it's not all made up bullshit for the sake of marketing...
...they switched from PC to mobile? Unlikely. Who here, with all the PC games you have played, would 'switch' to a fucking mobile device and touch controls? That is 7 levels of hell below console peasantry.
If they said they played mobile games quite a lot as well, that would make sense. And also, 'most of them'? What enticed them? Get the fuck outta here with that shit you hacks.
But our mobile devices keep us closer than ever to our friends, family, and loved ones.
I'll just go and play D3 on Switch with my daughter in co-op, she never played a Diablo game before, so it's the perfect entry platform for a local session.
Fuck the mobile shit.
And all this shit could have been much smaller in scale if they just did like Bethesda did with TES Blades presentation. If they just played teaser for next Diablo or something. Guess its Bethesda PR team 1 - 0 Blizzard PR team
I mean, ofc they need more presence in mobile gaming and so on, but what amazes me is that PR with all the tools available cant "predict" to what kind of crowd will they be revealing product and what kind of people are their core audience, etc.
One thing that im really disappointed is the fact that they didnt decide to make mobile game inhouse, and maybe try to do some "innovation" regarding mobile experience.

We have many of our best developers working on new mobile titles, across all of our IPs. Some of them are with external partners like Diablo Immortal, many of them are being developed internally only.
Season 18 starts this afternoon. Just played a bit on my ancient as shit Templar and it's actually (still) fun to play and it immediately showed me, why most other action rpg's are crap.

Not surprised in the slightest, they are a juggernaut company and its about making dollars. It's the right move for their current target audience. The last game that had any appeal to hardcore PC gamers was Warcraft 3 2002, I also think SC2 wasn't a bad effort of trying old + new in an unpopular genre, i think we were lucky to see that released tbh.
D3 was already pretty much a mobile game, single stat pumping for progression, automatic leveling, switch to any skill / build re-spec instantly, mash click / tap the screen and they had a buy the best gear store running for some time. I have no idea what Rhykker and those other derps are whining about, D3 does not require math/brain, hours of planning etc. like a decent hardcore PC ARPG should

THE LOOT.
The itemization/loot is godawful in this trash, though.
You invest into your computer and equipment disproportionally large amount of money than in the rest in your life, and you prioritize gaming over other activities whenever possible. Is this good?

That's what I would come up with, maybe sometimes even see 'playing competitively' tacked on as well.

Still beats most other games of the loot genre.
At what exactly?

Why even talk about this game? No one round here wants to admit they exposed themselves tp diabetes by playing this sugary sweet shit. no matter how much time they put in expecting novelty from an unimaginatively bland build of a, by the numbers game, which in turn means the odds of others acknowledging "Just played a bit on my ancient as shit Templar and it's actually (still) fun to play and it immediately showed me, why most other action rpg's are crap." are reallyextraordinarily fucking slim.
Actually, in later playthroughs I found D3 to be rather fun on hardcore mode. PoE isn't as satisfying on HC for me, because I feel I have less control over "preventing death" there than in D3... the relationship between risk (of dying) and reward always seemed just right in this game.
the fun is amazing when u disconnect die and the loot in d3 has been dogshit for last 10 seasons, same sets over and over and over zzzz , loot is dead in this game, it was never even alive, all thats left is who can grind the most paragon levels the fastest is what dictates the leaderboards ... botters got that covered

I like D3 for the smoothness/polish really. Rest all the games in the genre are janky/laggy mess. Wouldn't say loot is great or even good after all those seasons repeating.
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things donโt always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things donโt always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
Obviously, if you played the game for now 8 years, it must be stale, but I haven't touched it in years lol.
What I do like tho, is that you can find "build changing items". That what frustrated me in recent titles, most of them just give you a small chance of raising a stat by a small %.
D3 has that, too, but it's more focused and with usually more actual useful stats, but also adds legendary stats and effects, which can make or break a build.
Anyway, when you see a leg drop in diablo, you are still excited to id it, usually. Unlike in most other games, where you hardly can be bothered to pick "that supposed high end" item up
That's a positive consequence of the fact that in D3 you can change your build for free and at no cost. Of course, this also has its downsides (and it has been criticized heavily for it), but people rarely acknowledge that it also has advantages.
But yes, as Sin correctly mentioned, after so many years D3 does feel a bit stale.
One of to most important things about arpg is also how it feels to smash things to pieces, for example in PoE, it feels like you are grandpa swinging your stick with shit feedback, in Diablo III, its so nice to see shit exploding pieces with physics and great sounds, gets only better when you have poiwerfull gear. Personally im always returning every season for D3, even tho its the same shit, will do it until D4 comes out.
