Eh I'm into Sci-fi so I'll wait. Tbh though from the trailer I did like the fact that this time humans seem to invade an alien planet and not the typical vice versa. Maybe it will be good...
I thought it was a film, but apparently it's a series.
It looks horrendously cheap. Just about everything about it has the "made for TV" look, not just VFX and cinematography, even the glimpses of directing and editing.
Which in this day and age that "TV" (however you want to define TV in the age of Netflix) is able to attract a lot of talent and money.. it just won't cut it. Won't cut it at all.
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"

You mean like Avatar?
Heh no. Was referring to a series. Now that I think about it maybe Firefly though that's ages ahead of any series ever and it's not "save the planet" story.
Who the fuck thought that liquid metal design was a good idea for an alien spacecraft? Looks like a generic non-descript 3D shape that looks out of place and it is doing a simple animation which looks weird and unrealistic.
Why do so many untalented hacks think that alien technology means using weirdass alien materials and disregarding the laws of physics?
Reading a few reviews this seems the typical shitty written Netflix show. I don't understand why they can't attract some proper writing talent :/
The main selling point seems to be the WTF moments though, it's supposed to be over the top ridiculous most of the time. The cast is also pretty good, so I'll just watch it. In these dire scifi times, every scifi themed show is worth a watch.
Watched the first episode on a whim, without knowing the review scores. It really is bad imo. The writing and the acting are nowhere close to being decent, I was cringing most of the time. A skip for me.
Man this is not a very good show. Barely able to watch Ep1 and from bad acting to bad writing to terrible CGI it's a bit of a mess. Hopefully it get's better later.
I enjoyed Dark Matter as trashy B sci-fi show. It didn't have high budget nor was it aiming high with its story, but it hit its mark and was enjoyable. The writing on this is just unforgivably bad (from the one ep I've seen), and bad acting doesn't help.
I also feel it's gonna be one of those shows that focuses on inter-personal drama rather than actual sci-fi, i.e. what I like to call a modern soap opera.
A hodgepodge of science fiction homage, Another Life lacks the distinctive spark necessary to set it apart from the array of stories it aspires to be.

This is shit. "Starbucks" is a one-hit-wonder, having had 1 role that did fit her perfectly and ever since she is searching for another, but bad news, unless they make another BSG movie or something, she won't ever get another great role, lol.
