Everything you know about Jumanji is about to change. Watch the trailer for #JUMANJI: The Next Level now - only in theaters this Christmas!
In Jumanji: The Next Level, the gang is back but the game has changed. As they return to Jumanji to rescue one of their own, they discover that nothing is as they expect. The players will have to brave parts unknown and unexplored, from the arid deserts to the snowy mountains, in order to escape the world’s most dangerous game.
The first was pretty good, save for the grating, and I mean GRATING hysterics of Hart, and the non-villain and non-plot that came with that character. The film was at its best when the characters were exploring the world and their avatars, offering plenty of laughs. The main plot sucked but thankfully it didn't get much into the way.
This looks like an immediate sequel to the first film, heavily referencing it, while also introducing a very unexpected (to me) twist of changing up the who's who.. again. Huh!
Let's see!
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"
The first reboo didn't pester me as much as I thought it would, but it still felt like a shallow carousel of faux memberberry juice. No cozy adventurous 90s charm allowed, no soul, only pasta 'n furious type of entertainment for Hollyoomph enthusiasts :'(
I liked the original quite a bit. The remake was ok with jokes and characters that were written to "gel" in a somewhat funny way. And of course sexy scottish lass Karen Gillan (I have a soft spot for redheads and when I first saw her in Doctor Who I became a fan).
Dwayne Johnson has a very particular style of acting that makes him slightly endearing. And he can be funny.
Kevin Hart on the other hand........ I find him annoying and arrogant (watched interviews and some other movies with Kevin Hart) and his jokes are often meh. But that's all subjective.
Jack Blacks character wasn't quite right for him and his personality.
But whatever, the remake was entertaining enough. The sequel may be fun as well. And damn, I barely recognized Danny Glover. A gaunt old man. Danny DeVito on the other hand was basically the same except for the white hair. We'll see how they did sometime around x-mas.
