Update is out now:

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire, and we are decorating the xmas tree, baking gingerbread cookies and staying with our family, those we belong to! During this long journey we realised, our family became a bit bigger, because we have many new friends since 2009, when we first announced Lost Alpha.

An Xmas holiday season – which starts from 20th of December to 7th of January for us – wouldn’t be full without you guys and girls! You are part of our family as well. We’ve worked worked a lot in 2017 on DC, and now we would like to share something special with you. A full Lost Alpha DC 1.4005. What does it mean? It’s a full official repack with the base Lost Alpha game, and all patches and addons bundled together up till now! It’s a game, which contains hundreds of fixes, and if not more addons, and extras since the first DC release.

Speaking of addons, concurrently or just shortly after the release of this new version, a new unofficial addon will be uploaded, changing some fundamentals of gameplay, and bringing a new look to weapons, but also new weapons and items as well. It will use our new addon framework, which will make installing new content a breeze.

Wow Lost Alpha is insanely huge, just started it yesterday. I had almost forgotten how good and atmospheric the Stalker games are.
And it's still looking great! Although quite a performance hog for such an old engine. Think I found my next big game, it's going to keep me busy for a month or two Very Happy

btw. there is extended patch for Lost Alpha DC

Has anyone played through Lost Alpha? It still seems rather buggy (judging by comments, mod recommendations on forums etc).

Decided to give Radiophobia 2 a go. So far, so good.

Didn't care for the 1 color grasses and plants (which also are the same for all levels) so i created a 4K version of grasses/plants, bleak but not totally colorless, theme is also a little different depending on map. I'm still tweaking that though.

Well, they announced that Lost Alpha DC 1.4007 patch is coming out soon and the final 1.5 patch by the end of year.
After that, Dezowave (developer) is moving to another project.

At the moment, patch 1.4007 is being developed

Initially, the mod was an attempt to restore the atmosphere of an old good stalker, but closer to 2013, the concept has changed and the team decided to create something new on its own, using only a part of the ideas of the old distks.
In Lost Alpha Developer's cut priorities have been reconsidered, so now the goal of LA: DC is to harmoniously combine the elements of the gameplay ZP, CH, PM and builds, to bring new elements into the gameplay and graphics.
In the group you will find all the new information, videos and screenshots of Fashion Lost Alpha, as well as discuss the mod with other members of the group.
Part of the editorial team is the developers of the modification, so the information "from the first mouth."

Poor translation with Google. Someone who knows Russian/Ukrainian could better explain what's going on with the 1.4007 update.

Any mod/tweaks suggested to get a decent looking SoC game/mod? Tried several stuff for shadows (like this) but it still looks pretty crappy.

There doesn't seem to be that many proper tweak guides for it too Sad
Giving this one a try because why not, but the shadows look extra crap, even after some tweaking:

You could try Autumn Aurora, it's a well-done overhaul with tons of improvements, I remember trying the v.1 some years back and I liked the result. Razz Should already include many fixes from ZRP as well, though it likely won't be compatible with anything else.

Dunno... it will still be the original stalker story, right? Sad
Maybe I'll try OGSM for clear sky or something like that for CoP.

There's some new update floating around for Lost Alpha but it still seems to be a beta Sad

Ehhh... wasn't that impressed with DC 1.4005 vs the pre-DC version. Sure, performance is better but some of the gameplay changes not so much.

I have never been able to play the vanilla game or any other Stalker game. Last time I tried playing through the campaign of the original with some unofficial patch/mod or something ... but it got fucked whenever I approached any fire, the framerate tanked. Junky fucking shit Sad

I only ever played the original game with the Oblivion Lost 2.2 mod (plus the hi-res texture pack) which left the original story unchanged, but made many gameplay and graphic tweaks. Highly recommended.

I see there are some newer packs which incorporate it plus some other graphic and weapon mods. E.g. https://www.moddb.com/mods/stalker-oblivion-lost-2010-mp

Thank you so much!

I was about to ask for mod recommendations (mostly story related) and I see there are a few options to choose from. Going to start with Lost Alpha to be reminded of what stalker is and then I'll move to mods.
