Not only the pricing is doubting and all that jazz... THE MAIN QUESTION IS...
......Will they have fixed the fucking artifacts/silicon or thermal paste/ISSUES they caused from the 1st batch AND STILL ONGOING from what i'm seeing at Reddit or the Nvidia forums (among other 3rd party brands, etc) ??!!
BECAUSE IF THEY DID, COUNT ME IN...Maybe....

why you are so worried all the time, cards have 3 year warranty. After this "super" you probably get second hand RTX 2080s for very good price, since all retards will "upgrade".

Don't forget that we whose cards are working just fine aren't bitching about them so make that in count compared to reddit's and other forums. Failure rate is still quite low.

Quote: | NVIDIA Next-Gen Ampere GPUs to arrive in 2020 - based on Samsung 7nm EUV process
If you have noticed the 'super teaser' from NVIDIA, and line that up against what is posted in the topic title, then it's safe to say that the SUPER graphics cards indeed will be a Turing refresh. The big news, however, is that Ampere is looking to arrive in 2020, which sounds like ages away but is next year. It'll be based on 7nm fabrication. |
I guess the RTX-part will be updated as well, making games run 60fps @ 1440p. 60fps@4K will have to wait until 2022 or so.

At the time I write this it's less than 10 minutes to AMD's Next Horizon E3 Event but things are already known. Of interest for this thread:
Quote: | For those that are not aware, AMD has revealed the specifications of its upcoming Radeon RX 5700 XT GPU. The graphics card will have 40 CUs (as we told you a long time ago) and will achieve an insane boost in clock speeds of 1907 MHz (boost mode) allowing it to hit the 9.75 TFLOPs mark. This would make it an RTX 2070 competitor. |

$449 for the 5700XT which is basically level with 2070. Sure, the AMD part lacks RT-hardware (but who REALLY cares about RT at this point?) and the price difference is $50.
AMD won the next-gen console contracts again. AMD Zen/Navi in both PS5 and Xbox "Scarlett". They'll pull in some money from that, keeping them in business with further ability for R&D. So far the new Ryzens are most interesting. The Radeons, not so much. We'll see if they'll present more cards in the 5x00-series later this year.

Most of the people with RTX cards. Also next gen consoles having more RT features which will come to PC as well and run way better with dedicated RT hardware.
Bith Sony and Microsoft touted Raytracing capabilities, to a limited extent most likely but even then.

RT is still a compromise. Do you want 60+ FPS in 1440p or do you want the water etc. to reflect stuff outside screen space @ ~40fps? Unless you cough up $1200 for a 2080Ti which no sane person would do. And the difference between RTX On and RTX Off isn't worth the money imo. We're still a generation or two away from proper RT-hardware. I have to give it to NVidia for starting it by laying the egg, creating a future for RT in gaming. As of now? Too early and too little RT-power to make a real noticeable impact in games. Reminds me of the early days of PhysX.

Performance seems to be closer to Radeon VII than to Vega 64. Which it has to be since Sapphire Nitro Vega 64 already sells below 400€ in Germany.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

RT is an amazing achievement. My rtx 2070 performance s between 1080 and 1080ti... while also having additional RT capability. In my opinion, Ray Tracing is fantastic but it's still like 10 years away until full implementation

It will be never used properly / optimized until consoles can use it aswell.

Well both sony and ms mentioned raytracing so maybe its a custom Navi with some hardware RT on it?

Or it's like RT on 10x0-hardware, using a compute unit or two to calculate some minor effects.

Well, since we know AMD is fully used in the PS5 (Zen 2 & Navi) and same for Xbox 4 the console developers must either have added extra RT-hardware or it's going to be "soft" RT, ie. using non-RT-specific hardware like with RT for 10x0-series.
The third option is that AMD has RT-technology ready but have focused on getting it onto the console chips and we'll see new Radeon cards in the future with that tech. We already know the very recently released info about Radeon RX 5700/5700 XT; no RT.
This is what I just found on AMD Raytracing:
Quote: | AMD officially said the path they see includes using the current GCN and RDNA cards to perform ray tracing using the card’s shader cores. When Next Gen RDNA (the company’s official name for its new graphics architecture) comes along, “select lighting effects for real time gaming” will be used. |
So this year we'll see "soft" raytracing. We'll have to wait for their next-gen RDNA-architecture to see some kind of RT-tech. As for the consoles it's anybody's guess at this moment. My guess is "soft" RT.

Wonder how fucking expensive that 2080ti "super" will be, knowing Nvidia, it will not cost the same as current 2080ti, they can price it anyway they like.
