Instead of selecting male/female they could just let the player enter whatever. "Gender-fluid Dolphin" etc. Then they could let you import a .png which will be used as a texture for the toilet sign, and possibly other uses too (ID-card etc).
Remember the launch party they had for the original Bloodlines where they hired a model to cosplay as Jeanette Voreman and another to play as a Nosferatu? (found the link to the gallery - worth a look if you've never seen them - https://legacy.planetvampire.com/modules/bloodlines/cons.php ) Wonder what we'd get today? Actually, I don't. I shudder at the very thought.
We'll see - but it's impossible to get excited about anything in the modern climate. Developers are spineless panderers now'a'days (both when it comes to game design/features and shoehorning stupid fucking politics in).
In short, I'm with VGA on this one - there's nothing to get excited about unless concretely proven otherwise.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

They are going to be at E3 so I would assume they will finally show off real gameplay footage then. Still a bit disappointing it seems we are just getting the same clans as last time for the playable choices since I don't really count Thinbloods since that isn't a choice. They did mention background history choices on the stream today so it seems like the little bit extra they ran out of time on from part 1 that Wesp added back.
I think we'll see some gameplay at E3, since there's supposed to be a playable demo on PDXCON in October. So hands-off gameplay at E3 seems plausible. I do think the game is actually pretty far along, they've just waited quite a while to start talking about it.

Wow, that Jeanette looks like a cheap crack whore
But yeah, hope they don't ruin it with they faggy bullshit.

The atmosphere seems to be there, although ultimately it really is the writing here that will make or break the game. Let's hope for the best.
That extended trailer looks quite promising, there seems to be more focus on dynamic movements/animations and structure, but it could work if done correctly with proper level design sustaining the core mechanics. The faces are also way more tired now than they were back in 2004, then again progress works in mysterious ways.
The person aka journalist playing this is ruining the whole experience.
The third person perspective is perfect as it is (for me). It was - remember! - an option in Bloodlines and here the Deus Ex HR-like implementation is nice.
Aesthetically it looks great. Moody scenery, great lighting and doesn't look a buggy mess unlike the last version. Obviously the mong controlling it would probably make Half-Life look disjointed.
It looks a bit clunky at places, sure, and the faces are a little bit more tired than I'd have liked. But it also looks fun as hell - love the huge levels, verticality and freedom of exploration. And the atmosphere is just fantastic. What's with the fucking lens flares, though? I hope we can dial that shit down a bit.
Looks a bit rough.. just like in the previous game it doesn't have any cars driving, all the cars are parked.. it can make sense in some settings perhaps but it's not well suited for a city. it's been 15 years since the last game, and even games 15 years ago had driving cars if it took place in a city (most superhero games for example).
But superhero games use a completely different scale and level structure - you can't enter 99% of buildings, for example. I wouldn't mind a car driving around now and then, tho.
Funny how such a rubbish player was able to beat groups of armed people with just fists
thats because the gameplay is designed for controllers. If a good player would play it and use m/kb on top of that it woould just break the game. Im expecting the game to be utter shit as of now

I doubt you can enter most building here but i don't see how it matters really. Superhero games are also open world which is more demanding, this game seems yet again to have rather tiny levels and a 20 second loading time to the next "part", that is truly disappointing.
Compare this to e.g Cyberpunk and it quickly becomes laughable that it needs levels and still it doesn't have nearly the same graphical fidelity as something which is open world and still can have more things going on + better graphics too.
