Challenge the Fate That Binds You
On the planet Dahna, reverence has always been given to Rena, the planet in the sky, as a land of the righteous and divine. Stories handed down for generations became truth and masked reality for the people of Dahna. For 300 years, Rena has ruled over Dahna, pillaging the planet of its resources and stripping people of their dignity and freedom. Our tale begins with two people, born on different worlds, each looking to change their fate and create a new future.

Tales of Arise will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam on September 10 worldwide, Bandai Namco announced.
I'm still on the fence about getting it as I love JRPG's but I've never actually played a Tales game, while it looks fun, I'm not sure if the story will hook me enough.
Also seems like the PC port is decent and the game doesn't have Denuvo.
I've played Tales of Berseria and the Tales game before that (forgot the name). The one before Berseria didn't hook me in properly, but I really enjoyed Berseria a lot and even finished it; I can really recommend that one if you like JRPGs.
And yup, I'm looking forward to Arise - I had high expectations to begin with and the positive reviews look like a good sign. The only issue is that I recently started playing Edge of Eternity so I might not start Arise right when it gets released, but a bit later.

I bought Berseria a couple of years ago, because it seemed interesting but never really had the chance to try it, due to huge backlog and games releasing all the time
I might get Arise first and then some day play Berseria as well, I'm still on the fence but watching the ACG review, it seems really interesting.
i'm a huge tales fan since phantasia and have played most of the games barring the ones not translated or not released on devices i had access to
i'm still kinda sad they moved away from the overworld map and went with that dumb game hub world where everything is connected via disguised corridors
haven't read anything about this game but we'll see
didn't enjoy berseria much, but it was definitely better than zestiria which had a pretty meh story and characters
so hoping this is at least better than berseria
but i think my enjoying the games less and less is probably due to how all the usual tropes are character stereotypes are there, also the game world design since they moved to 3d are kinda dull and very corridory / boxy. same with dungeons
this one, though i haven't been following it at all outside of trailers, appears to be more of the same with the characters, and the story looks to be similarish to eternia
didn't preorder, but will definitely buy this once i see actual user reviews on steam
I dunno why this is getting such high praise. Combat is a chore, bosses are a bit souls like with a million hp and one hit kills, characters are very uninteresting and do nothing but whine and bicker. There is no typical charming characters so far which one would expect from tales games. And they keep secrets for surely no real reason. The world story is the one part so far i kinda like and find interesting.
Camera way too zoomed in, lots of pop ins directly in front of your face, and so far tons of fetch quests, but at least fast travel, when it's available is there.

Ugh wait, no FOV Slider on pc? wtf?
I am usually the last person to complain about FOV in console games, I got used to the likes of RE5 and so on, having a claustrophobic FOV, but playing the demo of Arise, it just annoyed the fuck out of me. How can you make an RPG with large open areas and such a tight FOV?
