Microsoft today announced that a dedicated Microsoft Games Studio team is working on a PC port of Halo 2, to be released for the Windows Vista platform. The port will feature the content of the original game and the multiplayer map pack. A level editor to create new multiplayer levels will be included as well. Thanks Chris.

i guess a dual install of vista an xp should be possible AND i also guess that a cracked version will come out
Else its going over to linux and starting to port games to it
edit: forgot to w00t w00t on the actual halo 2 for pc news

Agreed, i don´t understand the meaning of releasing a game on PC like 3 years after the Xbox version. This will look pretty damn outdated when it get´s released anyways since it looked about exactly like the first Halo game.

They release it because they're microsoft (read: greedy whores)
They release it three years after consoles because they're afraid the infinitely superior PC interface and the more dedicated PC FPS fanbase would subtract from their precious XBOX sales (the console as well as the title, some ppl buy the console for halo).
As for Halo sucking, I'd have to disagree. I loved 1, and like the MP on 2 (never played SP for too long, and have played MP over live at a friend's) |

i loved it. It had great gameplay and good gfx and one of the most awesome singleplayer levels in space-shooter fps games ever. Not to mention the great mulitplayer-part.

on a semi-decent machine it ran fine, but considering how it looked in comparison to other games in that time-frame, it did suck performance-wise

All I know is that Halo was a phenomenal game! I pwned it on the PC and never looked side ways at it for the XSUX. It was optimized for the XSUX and de-optimized for the PC to raise XSUX sales. If you wanted to play Halo with no choppiness and didn't have a highend PC then you would have to buy a XSUX. I enjoyed the game from beginning to end. Halo 2......well, I have heard mixed things from my cousin. He didn't like how you were able to play as the Covenant. He said it broke up the gameplay experience of being the Master Chief. He said it was almost like you were betraying the Master Chief. Hey, what can I say the kid is 11. That is a good way to look at it though. I hated the Covenant and would not want to play as them. Halo 2, I would have a hard time playing because of this. But the Flood in Halo was awesome!!! Who are we kidding EVERYTHING CAN BE CRACKED! LOL! Vista will fall to the scene big time. As will Halo 2. I bow to the scene.........

Mmmmm, I love Halo series, own both (legally) for my Xbox.
Hopefully the PC people will be able to enjoy, I'll pass on this one though.

Halo 2 was pure crap! Most linear shooter i've EVER tried. And short like hell! Took like 5 hours to go through! Therefore, i couldn't care less! (Except writing this reply)

What I didn't like in Halo 2 was the cheesy nonsense story with the Flood king (the stupid Flood shouldn't have been in the game at all) and of course the ending. The gameplay was ok and the graphics were decent.
Imo Halo was a better game, the story did make much more sense and it was more realistic and atmospheric. You fought for the survival of yourself and the human race by doing guerilla operations on an alien world. That made the whole game much better.

i on the other hand, will buy the vista, if there is one single piece of software you use day in and day out and surely deserves it's money, its Windows.

i actually have a legal copy at the moment because of the university campus agreement. Thats a novum for me really, hehehehe. I always had pride in ripping of ms. Nowadays i often think of switching, but linux doesnt cut it when it comes to gaming still... ...so let the vista come and let me own a pirated copy again
