never used win10

Any point in enabling that uber intel IGP on my 4690k then? |
not sure it works for such old CPU sockets
(iGPU needs to be dx12 compatible)

or u mean slot for multiple screens ? well i guess when u have 5+ monitors and a powerbill the size of your rent lol
only reason ive seen it usefull in is for those mining cards with no display port or when u dont have a fitting or older display port on ur gfx card so u can use the motherboards port as it funnels the gaming card when playing games through the igpu and mohterpoard display port
in any case, im really sold by vega and intel is making a huge mistake not catching up on igpu performance |
yes I mean extra dvi/hdmi sockets

you kind of have a point, but chill

it seems it's an engine requirement/feature?

and yes all laptops since 5-6 years with onboard video cards have had both it and the integrated video chip working together
applications are distributed between them
like windows is rendered by the chip
and games are rendered by the card
I'm not very familiar with the concept as I don't use laptops either
but have installed windows on dozens of laptops and that's the reason I don't disable the iGPU
THIS IS NOT THE SAME as the DX12 multiadapter usage that I talked about above
this is about giving a whole application to 1 specific gpu of many using only it's own resources
while the dx12 is rendering the same application using multiple gpus pooling their resources together (like SLI between iGPU and GFX)

Have to RMA my card as the temps are up to 74C during Heaven bench.

Is it OCed? |
Because it should run about 20-30C cooler than this with the same settings. No way that it should run over 70C with AIO cooler. I think the contact between the block and GPU is poor.

Ok. I think it depends alot on case cooling, fan speed and how much you OCed the card if at all. I agree that @ stock it probably should be around 55C in ideal conditions.
Still 75C is perfectly safe for 24/7 usage, if its "almost silent" at the same time. And it shouldnt throttle at those temps.
I would probably repaste it myself, since thats often an issue. But if you're afraid of loosing warranty on such an expensive gpu, then, by all means, just RMA it. You'll probably feel better.

"Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

I think 74C during bench is pretty good with the standard fan curve
ask in the forums for ppl with the same cooler
or just use Afterburner and map a custom fan curve to get 100% fan at around 70C or something along those lines
this is what I use on 1080Ti Gaming X - rarely see anything upwards of 60C

My Gigabyte 1080TI with the AIO watercooler runs max at about 65C, though it sounds like a plane lifting off, but it could be the CPU cooler. Never bothered looking into the noise.

You should repaste it and check if the GPU and heatsink have even contact. There's also the issue couleur wrote about: ambient temp inside the case. If the case has a high temp during use (due to poor fan placement and/or misdirected stream) it doesn't matter if you have AIO since it will cool the GPU with the air in the case. At least check other temps as well to see if you need to modify the case cooling.

I would love to replace the tim as the card is amazing (A-binned + Samsung memory) but the problem is that there is a warranty sticker on one of the AIO block's screws. I'm not gonna risk 900€ card's warranty because of that.
Also I think that my Define C (will soon be replaced with Meshify C) has a bad air flow because I have 2x 140mm Noctuas on the top and Kraken X62 installed in the front with the fans between the case and radiator.
One thing I could try is to heat the sticker of so that I can re-apply it because I just dont want to receive crappy card as a replacement.

Remove the side panel/door and check temps again.
As for the sticker, I doubt it's valid/binding unless you actually damage the card.

Just replace the thermal paste man, its a MSI card, its been stated like 100 times already that they allow cooler removal without voiding warranty, even in here finland.

Finally got Radeon VII, stock voltage in this card is 1058mv, which is very amazing silicon quality, passes unigine superposition 30min loop @ 1950mhz without any voltage increase, stock cooler is so fucking loud that i cannot even describe the sound, its literally "welcome to AMD 737 flight, fasten your seatbelts", jesus.

No its a 3 fan design (it looks so damn sexy tho), but still so loud, not sure how AMD even managed to get it this loud, its pretty much louder than the previous blower style cooler .

well i did some ray tracing on my old amiga, it was very slow of couse, all it has to do is calculate where all there rays bounce and what materials they bounce off afaik.
the nv rtx cards just have some optimised hardware to carry out floating point operations fast afaik. of course without hardware with the mathematical grunt it will be slow.
does it really matter if its fully ray traced or if they take a few short cuts to speed things up so long as it looks good enough.
