Turn off steam , and than use IE to start dod preloading from the webpage . I had the same problem .

COD2 is ultra noobish , dods require some skillz at least .

What the fuck is wrong with you  ?
The first was great in multiplayer, like real fun, fast gameplay lots of fun, even the sniping was fun. On the map i don't remember but we all have played. And COD2 is COD1 with better grapics, then the same gameplay. And iv seen some tournements in COD2, and its a great game for pro multiplayer gaming. DoD:S is not because of lots of bugs. And iv played both, and COD2 is a winner, or COD1. Atleast not DOD:S
And im replying to you when i see DOD: source in CPL

DoD is having major lag issues IMHO. And I find it kinda boring too. If they release more maps and balance it up a tad more I might like it.
CoD2 is sweet IMO and I really do enjoy playing. Plus it looks really good with maxed graphics. Only DoD got that damn HDR that is super sweet...

What were you playing at!? dod is a lot more fun than cod2. I've never liked cod and it's arcade style though. It requires no skill at all and is a yawn fest. |

I didn't make any comments on whether it was fun or not.. I merely stated that is horrendously slower paced than any other FPS I've ever played.
And it works for the type of game it is.
I agree it shouldn't be like CoD2. 
There are two flavors of games for two flavors of people, who wouldn't want it that way?
Just saying on the speed side of things, DoD:S is much, much slower paced than CoD2.

DOD:S has the shift to run faster but I believe you were refering to the spotting and aiming part. Then you are right. I agree COD2 is a more fun game than DOD but DOD is more tactical IMO.
Well I play DOD:S at home when I'm bored of css and play COD2 in lan with friends. I think this describes the difference between the 2.

If you think DOD S is slow stay away from OFP or Red Orchestra. I think DoD S is alright I just think the gameplay isn't that good. Usually it's the allies are camping somewhere and the axis are camping behind the same corner and the people that cross a certain line get mowed down it's complete BS there is no room for any type of tactics.
