Terrible game.

Half the time you are on auto-scripted movie like quest and the other half...game over! Short game, graphics outdated, typical Metro game reskinned...nothing new. Guess the decision to stay linear vs open world didn't help a lot. And cheapest price is almost 50€?!?! They should share the drugs they take...seem really potent!

I find it hard to find anything captivating in this game, sadly. Sure, it still is something to spend my worthless time on but I don't get the feeling of "wow, I should really play this" like I get with some other games.
Movement feels very clunky, animations and transitions to scripted movements if off a lot of times. Pacing is a big issue too. Walk around/sneak, shoot some stuff, be part of a long scripted scene that drags with lots of text.
I just got the train, maybe it gets better from here.

It does not. Embarassed I have the same issue with the game. So boring.

Man... Now im kinda glad that they moved to epic store, so I didn't buy it on steam.
Because I have to agree that's it's kinda boring. I loved the first two metro games, so maybe it's just the semi open-world aspect of it or something idk. I hope it gets better tho Neutral

Big DLSS improvement with the latest patch from all the images I've seen.

Taking a guess here... but maybe this 'stupid AI' is such programmed so one can - even while out of stealth and in combat - be able to do non-lethal take-downs (not looking for an argument, just an assumption, really). Smile

I DO know this is a MAJOR point (not killing anyone, even monsters sometimes) in the METRO series (librarians? remember that level?! Laughing ). So what I mean is that they always focused their stories and final outcome on how you responded to the world, even if sometimes if was BITCH hard NOT to kill anyone...

For example, in METRO 2033 Redux, in the 'Frontline' level you can save a prisoner captured by one of the opposing, fighting forces (Nazis and Reds) - with a CLEAR karma gain indication after you do it(!). BUT it's (almost) impossible to save him unless you shoot at least one of his executors.

Back to Exodus - I really love the game. It's buggy and 'rusty', but I don't mind. Smile

I regret not having it on Steam. Sad

Interesting how the open area is regarded as the best part, considering Metro is known for it's linear levels and being very good at this.
(haven't played any previous Metro game, and still waiting on the fitgirl rls to complete )

Karma still factors in and there are some reactions but it's also much more streamlined than the older titles where you stare at stuff and do strange things for a karma point.

Talk to crew, do side quests and as long as you don't kill surrendering enemies you should be good.

Knocking them out even in combat also works this time but if they're hostile you won't be punished for killing them like the earlier titles unless they surrender usually meaning the last living enemy in the groups simultaneously shits pants and pisses self goes on his arms and knees and cries like a baby. Punch the fucker but don't commissar his cowardly ass and take his shit but not his life and it's all good!

EDIT: Probably some hidden condition for the "You don't suck!" ending as usual, might have something like that.

Wow! The patch actually enhanced the DLSS quality. It actually looks better now ON then OFF.

A lot sharper and the details come out more. Somewhat like a reshade or something loll

And the fps boost is welcome!! Good job! Smile

Yep, I checked the Steam achievements and I don't see any type of 'don't kill anyone' requirement, with a single exception that refers to a CERTAIN level:

You can take down like 100 of them without the idiots noticing or firing a shoot.

ofc killing them is so easy the takedown makes no sense anyway Laughing

A Russian state TV channel has accused 4A Games' Metro Exodus of being "Russophobic".

Laughing Laughing

I'm encountering stealth bugs at the desert territory

at night
first it was when I'm crouching with NV on - the stealth led brights up and enemies see me from afar
now it's when I'm walking upright the led is on
then at 5am and during a dust storm, crouched the led is on
wtf

edit: also while driving the car through the desert, the front windshield keeps getting splashed by water Laughing

Disable GeForce Experience overlay if you have it enabled. The game does not like it.

I'm annoyed by the constant, endless monologues almost all characters in this game seem to have. It's like they just always have to say something, babbling on and on. I wish Artyom wasn't mute in-game so at least there'd be some ping-pong.
