Let’s see if these clickbaiters .. uhh i mean reviewers will check the dlss update in metro exodus. According to most people its no longer blurry, offers almost same sharpness as native while better perf.
Good to know. They shouldnt have released it like that in the first place though.

It'd be a better life if you knew what the hardware did or how it worked. Ignorance is bliss I guess (or is it alzheimer's?)
Alzheimer's, yes. Someone close to me died recently from that, not a nice way to go, believe me. We spent a good 4 years caring for her, but to no avail.
Regardless.
WTF has that got to do with anything? In fact, WTF has that got to go with anything GPU related? Just asking, as I do wonder?
Anyway,
The FTW3 card is brilliant, much more leeway than I had with the AORUS one, but I guess that is the silicon lottery for ya
Not going to happen, nvidia is not that dumb to sell 2080ti without RTX features for lower price. This price hiking they are doing, next Ti costs like 2000 euros, seems that there is no ceiling for their pricing, people just pays what they ask. Would be hot seller tho if they would make one for the normal TI price what it was before, but then they would need cut RTX 2080 price, since that took 1080Ti pricing...
With all the dominance NVIDIA is still in hopeless situation. The stocks are going down and regardless of their performances top RTX cards are not selling well. In addition to that no studio is gonna pay royalty licenses to Ray Tracing bullshit considering that less than 5% of Steam gamers can actually use it.
I gotta get a waterblock to my 2080ti. Was it hard to install on your 1080ti?
Hey bud, no, not really, more fiddly than anything I did want a block for the AORUS, but they were hard to get, and most probably not a true EK one
EK know their stuff, as regards blocks, and the GPU kit is supreme, as they do include everything you need to install, that, and a little help from youtube (as there is always someone installing one on there)
The only fault I can give them, is that the thermal pads are just enough to do the job (in my set anyway), no room for error, but I already had plenty from other fittings, so I was OK in that regard.
Boy does it make a difference You really can't beat water for cooling on a 24/7 setup, you really cant. Same goes for CPU.
It's a PITA to setup, but plan ahead, and it's well worth it.
wouldnt that horrible dye clog the channels in the waterblock after a while?
No, as I made it myself from grapes. The toil and the struggle of weeks of crushing them with my feet paid off, which I then strained though a used teabag for good measure
wouldnt that horrible dye clog the channels in the waterblock after a while?
soft tubing / PETG, likely. He will need to drain yearly or so. If you use hard / acrylic tubing this is a non issue. I cleaned out my machine after 3-4 years of pastel water = no gunk.
that said i'd never custom watercool a PC again.. just too much stuffing around.
The beauty of the FTW3 kit, is it allows you to use the stock backplate with it , so always factor that fact in, as EK do over charge for their back plates, and it's nice to have the original, more so in my case, as it's RGB!!! lmao , and has better thermal properties.
The EVGA back plate comes with tons of thermal pads on stock, so I wanted to keep that as it is.

It looks great!
Gonna give it a go in a couple of months!
shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.
Which 2070 is the best deal for quiet atx case?
I've only found so far that gigabyte version has some issues with fan speeds revving up and back down...

I'm waiting for the first humper to get a GTX 1660Ti. It's about 30% faster than the 1060 @ stock speeds. It's quite overclockable according to various hardware youtube channels and beats the 1070 in most games when overclocked.

Who cares when the 1070 can also be OCed and has 2GB VRAM more?
The card is wholly uninteresting. A few measly bucks cheaper, VRAM just enough but not very futureproof. But atm at 1080p its an ok buy.
Despite RTX, the GPU market is at its most boring since ages.

Oh, I forgot the 1070 is still available. I also noticed that the MSRP for the 1660 Ti isn't even close when it comes to available third party cards. They're $100-$150 over the MSRP.

It had me a bit interested. Until I saw the prices here in Sweland were closer to the 2060 Ref card than the price its supposed to retail for... fuck that shit.
It's just not an interesting card at those prices.
It might've been a mistake but I've ordered rtx 2070 msi armor
Now I just need to find a decent monitor and few months down the line upgrade mobo/cpu/ram + get 1tb ssd outside system drive

You'll be satisfied with your 2070 (even though RTX and Tensor stuff is kinda pointless at the moment). It's got enough horse power to run every game at 60fps @ 1440p. If you're playing competitively you may want to go for higher refresh rates, otherwise go for a really good monitor with 60hz (or possibly 75hz). At least that's my conclusion.
The GTX 1070 are slowly selling out it seems, there are not as many good deals available anymore. It was different only a week ago. Now most cost as much as the cheaper RTX 2060 models again.
Some custom models of the GTX 1660 Ti on the other hand are falling below the 280€ mark, even saw one or two twin fan models among them. They'll likely get even a bit cheaper the coming weeks.
The RTX 2070 is a good and fast card but still quite expensive compared to the 2060. Still starting around 500€, that's 160 bucks more than what I paid for my stock OC 2060. I checked some benches, it gives around +15fps at 1080p, +10fps at 1440p compared to mine, and it has the more future-proof VRAM of course. Depends on your needs I guess, but for me personally that's too big of a price difference.

I am a single player graphics whore. 60fps max details all the way

Okay, then we're both SP-nuts and your 2070 will keep you happy. If Nvidia (and developers) can improve their RTX and Tensor API's and performance you may have some sweet extras but the raw speed of the 2070 puts my 1060 to shame (and I can play most games maxed out @ 1920x1080 @ 60fps)
(I do play World of Warships every now and then but that's it as far as multiplayer goes and there's no need for more than 60fps).

yeah!
1080p60 is ok. 4k dsr with 0% smoothing looks great on 1080p monitor and dark souls games are 60fps locked anyway So is probably Sekiro.
Even though I've just finished Metro exodus (30-60fps, high, tessealtion off, no rtx), I will be happy to replay it so soon. It will be good comparison.
@termcan Let's hope so! We need very strong competition or Nvidia will continue to eat all out money for breakfast
Although in my case, the msi armor 2070 is a gift from fiancee

Funny to watch these nvidia aristocrats. AMD peasant rat king will rise in the fall and revolution will begin
I would buy the Vega but i don't want to pay another 50€ per year just because it's draining so much power, so i kinda see the AMD cards as if i buy something with a credit
Also their much loader which is quiet annoying.
i'am thinking to upgrade my graphics card from 1060->2070, tell me if the msi armor is good.

Seems to be very nice performer when overclocked / tweaked with a good cooling, can´t wait to get mine for testing (ordered same day it was avalaible and estimated delivery is end of this month, nice "release".
I would love to get one and put it under the Morpheus just for testing. But I'm not ready to shell out that money just to play around with a GPU. The Vega 64 is plenty for my needs.

Depends on the binning and a lot of factors, 2.1 to 2.2 Ghz is possible but it might also cap out at 2.0 or even 1.9 Ghz although scaling seems to be doing well if it isn't throttled or otherwise capped.
For a Vega user and Vega 64 at that it's not a huge upgrade though if money isn't a factor then a 25 - 30% performance increase for 800 US Dollar or Euro (Or more, I doubt they're near that level now.) could be a thing but then again if money *isn't* a factor then unless there's some personal opinion or similar behind having to go with AMD only then a 2070 or higher would be a direct upgrade and a pretty good one too at closer to 50% for the full 2080Ti though that's enthusiast levels and with a hefty cost but for the fastest GPU it's a clear choice if there's no other factors involved. (Cost primarily.)
EDIT: Particularly in the European countries, here it would probably be priced close to the 2080 and some stores trying to get a bit more for them as stock dwindles could see them close in on 2080Ti prices same as Vega and Pascal during the mining craze of 2017 to mid 2018 or so. At that point the VII isn't going to win at much of anything whether gaming or compute related from what you get for what you'd have to pay for the card.
EDIT: Oh and there are driver bugs and issues with Wattman and sensors, 19.2.3 mentions it in passing but Unwinder had more details on it for the newer MSI Afterburner and Rivatuner beta builds so that's going to mess with things a bit even if it's better than the launch drivers and their sorry state for overclocking including undervolting but there's still work to be done on AMD's software side of things.
Seems they spike a bit and hit the throttle point and what not or can give false readings for some of the sensors and such, being worked on but it can impact GPU performance if it tries throttling down even if it's momentary.
