say that to the xbox 360 life cycle that had ... like 7 ... ps3 had like 9 ... xbone has like 3 with 4th without a drive on its way... and ps4 had like 9 different models ...
Yikes
Does that mean that all the game studios they bought will be xbox exclusive?
Seriously what did you even expect? I don't see any Sony or Nintendo owned studios making games for other platforms at least pc is now considered an xbox as well according to MS
they should just have the xbox come with a version of windows and make it an upgradable console or something
so basically a prebuilt pc and xbox devs can build towards a predefined minimum spec in mind but games can go higher if it detecs that hardware isn't the same as the base one
i don't personally know anyone who has the latest xbox
If I could play my physical 360 games I would be happy but it probably will end up something like Gamepass where you need to sub to get full access to digital titles on PC as I do not see them having the full Xbox 360/One library on PC.
Is there any hints towards this that I'm missing or pure speculation based on the fact it's news regarding an old game?

Phew I just went down the rabbit hole - rabbit warren actually of excuses, disappointments and blame over the Master Chief Collection a mess but a typical mess created by short term thinking corporate capitalists. The best anyone can come up with is "If this was a car rather than a vid game the corporation would never get away with it blah blah" someone seriously imagines that politicians will stop the tech train they are currently on - censoring the net so it only contains points of views they approve of, and instead worry about consumer protection issues. You've got to be kidding, there is no way pols arte gonna go head to head with the tech combines firstly because pols are luddites whose areas of speciality center on mind-game playing and vote seduction, have virtually no crossover with real world tech issues. Plus of course the tech combines have become a major soutces of bribes er sorry donations, so that spineless politicians and their lickspittle bureaucrats won't even tax the tech corporations the same way every other industry is taxed let alone regulate them beyond the self protection above.
Europe is no better. At the time the MS windows monopoly decision came outta the EU, there was one lobbyist associated with the tech industry in Brussels, now there are over 100 and growing. Hence the abortion of a cookie monster legislation last year when the eu claimed to have followed thru on their promise to protect users' privacy from big tech.
Nothing is going to happen to protect gamers from the 1 in 4 syndrome - that about 25% of games released are somewhat playable. The only solution is for gamers to do it themselves. Lots more yarr me hearties yarr, but when a game has been shown to function and plays well, actual buying with whatchamacallit - cash money. Plus getting the word out far wide and fast when a much vaunted release turns out to be a dog.
The hip pocket nerve is the only way tech companies can feel anything.
