BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle will feature a “dream-team of characters that have never before been gathered in a single 2D fighting game,” including Ragna the Bloodedge and Jin Kisaragi from BlazBlue, Yu from Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, Hyde from Under Night In-Birth, and Ruby Rose from the 3D animated series RWBY.
Konomi Higuchi is the game’s lead character designer.
BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle is set to hit PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC May 31 in Japan, and June 5 in other regions. Japan will get a limited edition that includes special artwork (in gallery), art book, soundtrack, and a DLC character pass
BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle will start with a sizeable roster and has major DLC plans down the line.
The first of which is RWBY's Blake Belladonna, who fans most likely wanted to see in the main game. She'll be one of 20 DLC fighters planned (teased by silhouettes you can view in the gallery), and the game will launch with 20 characters which have all been revealed at this point.
lazBlue: Cross Tag Battle will add nine new characters via the Character Packs 4, 5, and 6 add-ons due out on August 6, developer Arc System Works announced following the BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle Finals at Evo 2018.

Additionally, the end of the trailer for the new character downloadable content teases the appearance of a fifth franchise. Currently, BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle features the BlazBlue, Persona 4 Arena, RWBY and Under Night In-Birth franchises, respectively represented by blue, red, yellow, and purple diamonds. The end of the trailer adds a pink diamond with the text, “A new fate intertwines…,”
Naoto Kurogane from BlazBlue: Central Fiction, Teddie from Persona 4 Arena, Seth from Under Night In-Birth, and Heart Aino from Arcana Heart 3 will join BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle as downloadable content characters this spring, developer Arc System Works announced at EVO Japan 2019.
All four characters will be part of the arcade release due out this spring in Japan. Arc System Works previously announced that the console and PC versions of BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle will be updated to the same version as the arcade release (version 1.5) after it launches at game centers in Japan.
Can't escape from crossing fate! The BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle “Ver. 2.0 Content Pack” will be released on November, 21 2019 and adds 9 new fighters to the roster: Yumi (Senran Kagura Estival Versus), Neo Politan (RWBY), Akatsuki (Akatsuki Blitzkampf) and Blitztank (Akatsuki Blitzkampf)! Version 2.0 also features a brand new scenario, new charater interactions and colors.
Also, “Ver. 2.0 patch” will be released for free on the same day as a major balance adjustment for all users of BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle
