Atelier games everywhere although I suppose they are going back to the classic gameplay a bit instead of just fan service stuff and more casual adventuring with the Arland games and then we'll see what the Nelke games does other than the town building segment.
(ALL the bomber crazy alchemists in a single town, what could go wrong!)
Hmm heard the old titles were more about management and balancing what to do due to the stricter timer criteria. Could be interesting although I found Sophie to be a bit constraining already with it's time limit and it was pretty lax as long as you moved forward and focused.
(With a lot of days just being removed due to a lengthy quest chain involving a boat, apparently not a first in the series. )
Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland invites players to assume the role of Elmerulia “Lulua” Fryxel, a young aspiring alchemist training under former student turned mentor, Piana. Lulua studies diligently to fulfil her dream of becoming a great alchemist just like her mother, Rorolina Frixell; but during her training Lulua discovers a mysterious Codex, awakening an ancient power within her that enables Lulua to decrypt but a single page – with many more riddles for her to unravel.
The early Atelier titles look fun but the new ones haven't been too good though I've only tried the PC ports so that means starting with Atelier Sophie the 17th(!) game in the series.
Firis and Lydie & Soulle felt a bit worse though I think GUST doesn't exactly have the best of budgets either for these, not as rough as the Nights of Azure and especially the sequel though and then there's Blue Reflection which feels like 14 YO fan service game thinly disguised as a magical girl game.
EDIT: Then again I think Atelier Firis, Nights of Azure and Blue Reflection all fell under the "Beautiful Girls" as the code name GUST had for this project so yeah it's fan service and innuendo everywhere to the extent they can get away with it.
(Not the worst, not the best though Atelier has some actual gameplay elements and management and other parts for players to get involved in.)
