When I did my "mönstring" (conscription into the military) I specifically told the shrink that I wanted to join the military to shoot guns and hopefully at people just so I could purposfullyfail the thing, I see I would have made a grave mistake in the canadas.

Yeah, if I'm not mistake the World News part was open to non-members of the hump for everyone to see. But due to your involvement in the police and what you were posting here (and especially in the police brutality thread) the whole section got locked down to members only as a favor to you.

Canadian law is pretty tough compared to the US yes.
If you JUST want shotguns and hunting rifles, you have to take a 1 day course and pass a test for a non restricted license.
If you like "black guns" and any Handguns, you also need a second day, another test, and a practical safety test. Once passed, you mail off the application.
Police will do a background check on you, can take from 41 days to 2 years to get your license.
Then if you buy hunting or shotguns, rules are not that strict. U can store it at home anywhere as long as it's not loaded, same with transporting it anywhere.
Restricted guns like Handguns need to be unloaded, trigger locked and locked in a gun safe when at home. When transporting it it has to be triggered locked and then in a sturdy container which is also locked... And even then you can only transport it directly to a shooting range (with some exceptions) and then directly back home. No going for joy rides or deviating from a direct route.
I agree with some of the restrictions.... Disagree with others... But liberals won't be happy till they ban it all... Even though all our killings and murders are done by gangs, using guns smuggled from the US... but their answer is to ignore that 96 percent of the chart and go after the 5 percent of the problem. Hmmm sounds familiar... Let's remember that I invented the World News section, and I'm not sure it had anything to do with the police brutality stuff, that stuff don't matter. There was some other stuff... Very kind of the admins if they did that for just me though. Great people here

What was great was not being able to read the world news section when being banned.
