Ah that's right there's the Nexus Mods website and the progress on modding the game is far enough now for data adjustments and not just texture replacements.
That would work too and with no risk from the games side to try and detect it as invalid.
The reason for all the sucky jap ports is that there's basically no PC-market in Japan at all. They're still very inexperienced with PC development and have no history of it to speak of. You'd think they'd be better at it after 20+ years of buggy/slow ports but nope.
There is an oddly charming aura that surrounds the game and the idea of leaving your base to chase down increasingly powerful beasts inside a dynamic world where anything can happen is a very good concept...on paper. The big problem is, while the core gameplay works fairly well, the actual progression and structure of the whole thing *truly* is (literally) a monstrous one.
Between the nearly infinite list of rinse and repeat quests, massive focus on selective hoarding, artificially stretched out battles, lightweight story and one of the worst interfaces (if not the absolute worst) ever seen in PC gaming I had to eventually raise the white flag and retreat from the highlands with a bag of lethal nope herbs.
(For what it's worth, on the latest isoversion both m&kb controls and the performance overall are acceptable-ish as long as one can ignore the vintage visuals and adapt to the console wonkiness).

Yeah that's Monster Hunter for you and this is actually the most polished game in the series so far, it's certainly not for everyone that's true you really have to like grindy games, i'm playing this franchise for well over a decade now i don't think i will ever get tired of it.

Nah PC is still niche true but there was always a market for it especially in the indie scene PC gaming is pretty big now for a while in JP as well and games like PUBG and Fortnite helped a lot to make it more popular.
I bought this as a surprise gift for my son, he played for about 2hrs and 5 mins (so no chance of a refund). He has not touched it since, and he plays some really crappy games.

Then 2 days later it was cracked.
Needless to say I am miffed
Yeah Kids these days
You really need a lot of patience for this type of ARPG.
It's not really that, he can spend hours on the likes of Stellaris and Endless Space 2. I think like a lot of people the game simply did not 'grab' him. Also he is not exactly a kid as he is 19.
I tried the game and lasted about 20 mins, just did not grab me either.

Yeah lol he's definitely not a kid any more with 19 but yes as i said it's not for everyone and that's fine.
Worlds will collide with the next big Monster Hunter: World collaboration – The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt! Step into the shoes of Geralt of Rivia and leverage his expert monster hunting skills as you take on a unique quest line in Monster Hunter: World. Free title update coming to #MHWorld in early 2019.
CDPR will keep whoring him out, and the author is going to get even more pissed because of royalties.
Wait for Geralt to step into yet another portal, end up in the PGA Tour world, goes "I HATE PORTALS." while winking at the camera, and proceeds to play golf while wads of cash overflows from his satchels.
My 14 year old step-son is only playing Fortnite BR. He's a fucking moron...
This seems to be all kids that age. My 13 year old plays enough to hit rank 100 each season. Now he wants Black Ops 4. I try to get him to branch out, but all he wants to play are shooters. Kids these days.
