Thought you were talking about the original, but yeah, they got it right with Terran Conflict and Albion Prelude. It's just with their track record, I'm sure it will be somewhat of a mess at first. Still, I'm looking forward to it.
Sin there is something wrong with your streaming. I hear you, see mouse movement but its all on a static image. Over here it shows you are still in a hangar. Even though I can hear cutscenes/tutorial and such. Twitch and Youtube that is.
Yup, checked other channels just to make sure it isn't me.
And I also mentioned it on Twitch but no response to that.
Yeah, and now there is very bad shuttering when you move around. Like you are having epileptic seizures while playing That's both on YouTube and Twitch.
Have to say, pleasantly surprised so far. It's still euro-jank, but it has to be their most polished release so far. Yet to delve deeper into it, but it really seems they took the XR fiasco's lesson to heart.
The lack of pissed off rants in this thread since launch should say more than any praise ever could.
The autopilot still sucks balls though. There are definite improvements, but it still has problems navigating in dense asteroid fields. They added a funny "Autopilot epicly failed" message when you collide with something while in auto-cruise and you just keep going, but it doesn't always trigger and I had to get out in my MMU to repair 75% of my hull several times because the autopilot crashed head on into some rocks. But the AP was always bad in X games, and it's really a minor nitpick in a surprisingly good launch.
Didn't do any large-scale trading or station building yet. Those were the two real sore points in XR.
In summary: the early game looks real promising, late game stuff remains to be seen.

Hearing cutscenes/tutorial? How far into the game is that, because I've only seen the intro "cutscene" which is 10 seconds long, and there was no tutorial, not even a mission.
Is something bugged on my end? I picked the first pilot which states there is a tutorial but I'm just thrown in a station with no further guidance. I can start text-only tutorials from the help menu but I'd assume that's true for all the pilots.
Only 1 "start scenario" has the tutorials enabled and you have to start them yourselves, via "h" and then selecting the tutorial.
I still have mixed feelings about it so far, it feels like a proper mix between x3 and x:r
Gonna play some more now (and stream).
On a side note:

Nvidia drivers have a minor issue with how they name their VSync options towards Vulkan games (like X4). You will, therefore, note, that the default VSync mode name "Triple Buffering VSync” is in fact NO VSYNC. You may have to try out the others modes depending on your driver version. Nvidia is working on fixing this naming issue.
this game has some serious issues with nvidia/win7 for me. just leaks vram until things start turning invisible and you can't read text panels or see textures. only takes ten minutes on 2gb vram.
other than the obvious fact i can't really play this untested piece of shit because of the renderer issues, the game seems pretty reasonable.. it's every bit as janky as x3 and xr but at least seems to be pointed in the right direction this time around.
Well considering that's below the minimum requirements, I guess you shouldn't be too surprised.
yeah someone did mention that, i just don't believe it
the same issue occurs on 4gb if you have the settings turned up after awhile so i don't think it's really the minimum requirements at fault. guess i got time to wait for them patch shit up, or get a new videocard. back to elite with my inferior vrams
Could be a necessary overhead cost due to the seamless transitions they advertised (so depending on the traffic in your immediate vicinity, VRAM use could spike), but I wouldn't be surprised at all if some memory leak shenanigans are involved, as well. I got 8GB myself but it indeed sucks if even 4GB isn't enough for anything but short sessions.
Played for a while and it runs flawless with no major issues so far. The visuals are poor overall and the fps tank hard when you add a decent amount of aa. The game really does need it cause the jaggies are everywhere.
As far as gameplay goes it looks promising but it does have that rebirth vibe. I'm just gonna stay away from walking around and stick to trading and building via the interface as much as possible. After spending some time playing i have an itch to go back for more, that's always a good sign.
Being a graphics whore it kills me you can't use reshade. The game could look so much better with it...
