In short, we are going to start closed beta tests on Kickstarter soon. After that point, UBOAT will hit Early Access in a few months.
We will keep you informed as things progress as exact timeframes will depend mostly on the feedback that we will be getting during closed beta testing.
Shame to see a promising title going the route of languishing forever in Early Access land. Would have rather they just finished and released it.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

At first the game was meant to be a sort of a simple "Uboot tycoon" where you just woud have to manage your crew and such.
But it seems they went full "Silent Hunter enthusiasts" mode and seeing how the game (slowly but certainly) shapes up, they may provide us THE sequel Silent Hunter's serie actually deserves.
Can't wait to put my hands on the beta. (finger crossed)

I've always had a thing for u-boat games, but the 'combat' (calculating the course of the torpedoes and such) was always something that put me off.
A u-boat tycoon (with crew management perhaps something like FTL), that would actually be a game I would play
There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.

I recommend seeing other videos of the game too. I watched many streams of 3 guys who had done it since the fall of NDA so i consider myself well-informed on the state of the game.
The bad:
- lots of bugs, less crashes lately but there are issues regarding saving and upgrading the boat (sounds a bit too SH5-y). 2-4 guys (heard conflicting reports) are working on the game seem to be on top of things but there are lots of bugs to squash
- many sh or wolfpack fans are interested in the game and don't seem to realise (or like) the fact that the game is less sim-y and more about crew management. So that's a con for those who expect something like SH or those who don't like micromanaging
- fpp view isn't too good mainly because of clipping and some of the crew just standing there
- low performance
The good:
- great atmosphere
- attention to detail
- good for filhty casuals and some above that level
- some diversity in mission types (hopefully there will be more)
- SDK is on the way
- despite low performance i swear the view of the u-boat surrounded by depth charges underwater is gorgeous. Check it out:
EDIT:
Also, at the same price as on steam (or even less considering regional currency), you can get a physical copy (from what i know ONLY in Poland) with dvd, steam key, ship recognition book, soundtrack, minidocu and 2-sided poster :
