Ubisoft generally doesn't patch out the DRM from their games though then again server maintenance is probably minimal with how little data is being sent so unless there's additional fees involved there's probably no real incentive for publishers to remove this thing at all.
Though a few do either out of goodwill or other reasons but I believe the majority of Denuvo games still have it active going back to titles for when it was first introduced and then up until now.
If for no other reason than the delayed startup time I'd like to see it removed within a year but eh I doubt that will happen unless it's expensive for the publisher to keep it maintained and that's probably very minimal with a few KB's worth of data for sending and receiving the hardware key and license plus periodic re-activation either bi-weekly or however else it can be customized.
EDIT: I don't know enough about the software itself though, though short of those reverse engineering the code and the actual creators I guess that's common, hard to tell exactly what it really does and what changes between revisions in this obfuscation layer and code protection solution.
EDIT: Though they did patch out Tages and SecuROM from their earlier UPlay attempts of integrating DRM from a few games using these so eh could happen for Denuvo too, but not for a while yet I'm guessing since they're still actively using it.

Any major issues with the cracled version? And were any updates ever cracled?

Zero issues for me, if there was a bug it was because of the game itself. Minor stutters here and there but I hear those were fixed in later patches, which of course, weren't cracked. The CPY release contains content up to the first DLC (Hidden Ones), but the second one (Curse of the Pharaohs) hasn't been cracked to this day.

Where is that? I have the "CPY Gold 1.21v" and it has some configuration file called ACO but don't have that line for profile or do I have to add it when I install the new version?

wait for rin to come back up to find a fix, i too played and finished the first dlc
as for not starting and because rin is down, had to take a look at r/crackwatch on the game release and now its updated with BAD CRACK according to multiple reports (FitGirl, users around etc), waiting for a fix is advised.

Verified Repacker - FitGirl, I'm delaying my repack till crackfix is released. This one doesn't work on my two machines. Also I see lots of reports on torrents and this topic with similar results.

for me it recognized them all just by having CPY in the ini ... maybe check the save folders |
