sadly it always take a long time for them to learn from their mistakes.
they always drag and drag and draaaaag it until they will see it too.
guess we get those windows store games on steam in about 5 years from now.
Microsoft suffer from serious ego and hubris issues. Because they do have a stranglehold on the PC OS market, they want to abuse it as much as possible, expecting everyone to just bend over and accept it forcefully.
The store offerings are terrible. I don't think I've used it once, save Tweeten, because it's the only decent tweetdeck clone there is.
IF they started selling ALL games available on Xbox to PC users via the Store, maybe it wouldn't be quite so bad...but they only do so with select titles, and therefore try to maintain an exclusivity that noone cares about.
Microsoft try to reinvent the wheel at every opportunity. Look at the pointless AR crap they're trying to peddle. Every headset it shite, and they were originally going to require non OpenVR compatibility.
I truly wish someone would somehow change things, and somehow develop a new OS that didn't force all the unwanted crap MS are making us use. (that doesn't involve any flavour of linux, because that's shite for other reasons...)

Obsidian is done anyway. MS buying them might actually be an improvement, at least for the first game or two. At least they'd have a decent budget. How it turns out is probably largely contingent on what the terms are for the existing management. If they clear out Feargus and friends, that would definitely be an improvement.
Not likely when Sega own the IP. Which is a shame, as despite its many flaws I personally rank AP as one of Obsidian's best games. And that sort of modern espionage genre is really untapped for RPGs.

I never played any Rare games, so I have no opinion on their fate. But Obsidian are dead in the water, that's why they are looking for a sugar daddy. If they are going to go bankrupt anyway, might as well give MS a shot.
In b4 they remove all the games from Steam and add them to the Windows Store.
Exactly what I said to myself.
This might be the new Microsoft's strategy to kill Steam ... Buying all game studios in the world to make their games MS Store exclusivities !
We are all fucking then.
