Hmmm so they're doing flash-forwards now, I guess that's how they will bring Walt and/or Jessie into the show in some future episode.
Cinna bon black and white scenes are flash forwards too

True, but those were limited to the first few minutes of each season so far. This one scene in the last episode is kind of a departure from that, also being a flash forward to the events in BB and not to what happened after it ended.
Yeah, I was actually going to write more or less the same thing. This season has been a disappointment so far. First few eps were decent enough, but now... for the first time since Better Call Saul started, it just doesn't seem to be building up to anything interesting. And it's not even about it being slow, since it always was. It just seems like with Chuck's death, all the tension kinda drained from the show. All that's left is watching Jimmy become the scumbag we know from BB, and the more the show concentrates on him, the worse it gets. It's obvious what they're doing with his relationship with Kim, but it just isn't enough to carry the series forward. Even Mike is relegated to being a babysitter for a bunch of Germans.
I agree with you guys that the season is the slowest so far, and in those terms it could be seen as the worst one so far, but if they goal of the show is to tell the story about how Jimmy became cynical crooked lawyer Saul Goodman, then the story arch in this season is consistent with that. Still, they could have made it a bit shorter I think.
I disagree about Mike being "relegated" though, he's had among his best moments as a character (including Breaking Bad) during this season, IMO.
S1 should have been the build up, what Jimmy (and Mike) becomes. Then the fun could have started with Mike and Jimmy working for various criminals.
But instead we get a draining, slow drama with Star Wars type of fan service. "Look!!! We ALSO included THIS character! Surely you remember HER from BREAKING BAD!!!" (say with Saul Goodman voice for best effect!)
I mean that's ok to a certain degree but just like SW it's getting stupid and without adding much or anything. It just makes the world feel predictable and cramped.
The character building is getting waaaay over the top. It totally pushes out what could instead have become interesting stories of Mike and Jimmy working for various criminals. But just when we get to that part, the show will be cancelled because everyone has become totally drained of these immense character build ups. Even for small side characters, they get a TON of screen time. What's next, perhaps some build up of Salamanca's doctor too, a mini medical drama perhaps? Because that would be fun and not another time waster
I'm honestly not disliking the snail-friendly pacing this season (yet), it's a window on the characters' daily lives where every little detail, single gesture or seemingly irrelevant habits are put under the magnifying glass. One could say it's almost like a constant voyeuristic session
It's something that can work only where the characters are interesting and the acting is good, which is certainly the case here. Having said that, I too hope the apparent stillness can lead to something concrete (no pun intended) soon, time will tell. *happily bounces the rubber ball*
Really boring and predictable finale. It's amazing how they can drag out on absolutely everything into almost infinity (the construction of the lab, for example..). Like usual things that should be a 2, perhaps 3 ep. thing instead spans over a whole season and beyond.
It's a shame the series will end just when things could start to get really interesting because they've dragged out on the story way too much with extremely mundane things.
Love the cast though and it's really the only reason i watch it + on some rare occasions it's actually pretty good (story/progression), almost bordering to as exciting as a mediocre Breaking Bad episode.

Maybe I'm wrong though, and they're planning to milk it for quite a few more seasons now that...
Spoiler:
Jimmy has finally become Saul Goodman
... so the show might turn exactly into what you were expecting from it.
Does the show have enough views now for them to do that though? I'm hoping they do, but i'm thinking they've fucked up. They decided to go for slow-mo character building (..and lab building) for so long that people are fed up. I don't think they're gonna change their direction either, it seems like they absolutely don't want it to be close to something exciting like Breaking Bad, then we should have been there in S2.
my sick beard fell asleep..again,. wish I can force a full update on a regular basis because it just stops refreshing all my shows like once a month. I now see Saul in my 'coming episodes'
AMC’s “Better Call Saul” has been renewed for a sixth and final season of thirteen episodes at AMC.
The final season will go into production later this year and air in 2021, that number brings the show’s total to 63 episodes – one more than its progenitor “Breaking Bad”.
